I made a decision to avoid posting topics whose humor is derived from the reaction of the replies, not from content of the topic itself. Obviously this topic was treading on that line and not many people could see it was satirical. Therefore many angry replies were had despite it being tagged #satire. But rather than leave the thread up with a disclaimer, I feel it's better to take it down. So...sorry.

It's down to the parents. The teen rating is merely a guideline. My 9 and 10 year olds play destiny with me, the ten year old has done all the raids on hard. In my family we get together and save the universe. A lot of my friends have kids who play, so it's often a big family outing to the dreadnought or into crucible. The kids are being taught online etiquette rather than being dumped online by uninterested parents just wanting an electronic babysitter while they watch big brother 342.

Shut up you stupid Jew

No. My bro is 11 and he kicks butt

Nice one. You can tell who's new to the forums.

ESRB rating system is a suggestion of age and maturity of the game, not an enforcement. You can't get your ass fined for letting your son play an R game, the rating is there to let you know what to expect in the game and make a smart decision if it's suitable for whoever you're buying it for.

Edited by Salt Sifter: 2/9/2016 6:20:56 AMPlease be a troll post. Please. As a 49 year old father I quite enjoy playing with my 8 and 11 year old children. Just noticed satire. Okay. I guess it's kind of satirical.

Op is 14

As long as they don't use mics, I don't care
-
This is a PG game don't try and say it is M.
-
Then destiny would truly be dead lol

Sadly, you'd no longer be able to play either. Oh, we weren't talking about mental capacity. Nvm, carry on.

Sorry man my eleven year old son is more mature than most of the T for Teens on this game. Maybe even some of the A for adults. It is mostly a lack of parents being parents. Where are these kids swearing like sailors on line that their parents don't know it is going on? If my son is playing video game it is in the living room. If he started talking about anything to do with your mother you could rest assured he wouldn't be wanting to play games for a long while. This isn't a problem for xbox or the game industry or the PMRC Oh yeah I went there and yes We're still not gonna take it. This is just parents not taking time to raise their kids. We will all be paying for it in ways we likely can't imagine.

The game is fine, The community is why its rated T, And it says #Satire for those of you who dont read tags

Honestly, only one eighth of Xbox users have Kinect, so this would be impossible.

Edited by King Ghidorah: 2/9/2016 3:38:25 AMIn all seriousness, that T for teen thing is more like a suggestion. The parents check out the game, see if it is okay, then get if it's okay. also, the age you have to be to play a game is not up to the community, it's up to the parent. So what if a five year old is playing gta 5, if the parent is letting them play it, let the kid end up the parents way. If the parents don't want them playing it, and you can contact them, then you should tell them to get off of it. BTW: May as well fit in, really a stolen post, get more creative dude.

If physical age... No. But if they are permanently of that mental age. Also no; because the forum would be empty and lonely...
-
That's the stupidest proposal ever, honestly
