Day1/PS4. I ragequit hard upon playing the garbage that is year 2 crucible maps (Delete everything and put the PS4 back in the box hard). I decided to give Destiny another shot in late December. The fantastically well made core game was just the same as I remembered it. TTK was a decent addition, which moderately improved upon the paper thin story. But even so, the crap above that foundation only got worse. The only thing really keeping the game alive at this point is the 10/10 near flawless core mechanics. Seriously, no other shooter has ever made shooting things so much fun. The problem is everything other than shooting things. Even disregarding the issues with Bungie itself, the problems are extensive. PD did a really good job going over most of it. Serious lack of PVE content that doesn't quickly devolve into a mindless grind. IMO Vault of Glass remains the best PVE experience in the game. I doubt at this point that they will make something better without doing a full Destiny 2. The Crucible... I barely even touch it anymore. I don't understand the pvp focus Destiny seems to be getting with such a shallow pvp feature foundation. I came back to Destiny after playing Halo again, and there just is no comparison. Theater, Forge, and extensive custom game options are all critical features that Bungie themselves pioneered, yet all are nowhere to be found in Destiny. People have been asking for this since beta and we get Crimson Doubles with a side of obscurity and a sprinkling of silence. It's so weak and lacking that I, a PS4 player, spend more time in Halo than the Crucible. Connections... Even the 24 player madness that is Halo 5 Warzone is a smooth and fairly lag free environment. Even before the SBMM storm it was hard to go a game without at least one redbar warrior eating bullets like cereal and bending shots around corners. TLDR: The core gameplay of Destiny is damn amazing, but that won't stop it from bleeding out through a long list of extensive issues without major surgery.
