Not levelling up undoubtedly the best PVE subclass starting 25 Levels and 280+ Light ago shows inexperience and that's probably why you were kicked. Being a Striker Titan means you have to get close to your enemies to use it, risking your life which you probably would have done when it was charged because of temptation. You were probably replaced with a Nightstalker or a self resurrecting Warlock which does have use in the Raid, particularly Hard Mode.

  • Lol I was just nagging at a friend of mine about something similar, he hates defender but has only unlocked the first grenade, he wants to do VoG, CE, and Skolas in that order BEFORE he starts ttk, he refuses doing it after Kings Fall because
the timeline won't be right
, I see his side but he won't be leveling up fast anytime soon

  • Give me an example of the usefulness of someone who hordes their super in case they die outside of "I can take the hit in the shade.", which isn't needed at all. I'll wait.

Better than a striker Titan? Wasn't that the whole point of the comment? If I had to pick another I would just say for insurance purposes, Golgoroth Challenge Mode where a death results in a wipe and holding a plate on Oryx where people can die on from time to time due to Acolyte Eyes, Tombship Axion Darts and Centurions. I'm sure there are times where people have died on platforms in your Raid runs and I bet you were wishing that guy was a Sunsinger when you were jumping off a cliff to wipe.

  • Storm caller is pretty awesome at golgoroth. The lock can even be gaze holder. Just stands on the edge and the lightening hits the orbs as well as the taken thrall. Also a Rezlock has saved us from sisters. 2nd relic holder was blown way the -blam!- away. We killed her but died as well. Not that we could have redone it but saved us like 10-15 mins. Locks are nice to have in the shade as well. I know you were saying that they don't have to take the hit but it's nice for oryx to slam and be back on the out side so damage can be done. I've heard you can just jump the echo and he will slam with out the jumper taking damage. I haven't tried it as I'd look and feel stupid if oryx just straight up killed me lol.

  • This isn't about warlocks as a whole. Simply about the sunsinger sub class and the way most of the community utilizes it.

True I prefer radiant skin especially in hard mode, as there is only a few times rezlocking comes in handy. I feel self-Rez has been the standard though since VoG.

  • Sadly, that's because most players have the same mentality as most of the others replying to me have. How many times have you heard someone in your fire team announcing they are using Song of Flame? I'm willing to bet you can count that on one hand. Willing to bet you, as well as most others have heard "It's ok, I can self Rez." one too many times.

Yep I hear I have self Rez all the time. Many that say that do use it like a crutch. There are some locks that don't use their super up until sisters lol. Those are the people who could be using radiant skin or void walker if they wanted to.

  • Jumping works well, you literally can just jump over the shades head as soon as the shade come in, if you jump high enough to he will slam and you will take 0 damage.

  • Awesome I've heard this but haven't wanted to try it with a bunch of randys. Will most likely try when I run with my friends this Friday.

  • Right. So, useless to the team as a whole.

  • Not needing to wipe. I'll take that over a striker any day.

  • So you're ok with a player who is bad dying but having self Rez over someone who doesn't die and applies his abilities into actually helping the team? Gotcha.

  • Depending on the part of the raid you are in Voidwalker and Stormcaller are useless as well, Sunsingers have a decent neutral game with there Nades and flamesheild. Also We all screw up from time to time and die, IF you are on your lock and die you have the ability to rez and save the wipe. Also I have in situation where a teammate who was a titan or hunter was about to die I would jump in front of them and take the hit then self res to avoid what could have been a wipe.

  • I want to be clear here. I never stated warlocks as a whole aren't useful. I simply asked for viable examples of the self Rez ability aside from "I died. S'all good." The debate was about the usefulness of a striker vs and I quote " a self Rez warlock". Not the sunsinger subclass.

  • Self rez is much more useful then striker though, All a striker will be good for his the grenades, in regards to the super a FoH is really only going to be able to clear a group of adds and that's it. It is much more useful to have a self rez lock. What Sunsinger should do though is if there are plenty of orbs on the ground they should use there supers create orbs then pick up the orbs on the ground to get there super back. I agree that players tend to not do this. I understand the argument of using song of flame or radiant skin but a real warlock running sunsinger will understand he can be very useful and create orbs in the right situations while having self rez on just in case they make a mistake. In the end a Sunsinger Vs Sriker in the raid the Sunsinger wins every time.

  • I don't disagree with you. However, as I said before, this wasn't a debate between striker vs sunsinger. This was striker vs "self Rez warlock".

  • Self rez still win 100% of the time, lets look at oryx, would you rather have a striker that has a class and super that does absolutely nothing or a self rez lock that can rez if they make a mistake, Granted you should not dies in the first place but it happens. Also you cannot compare the whole striker class with just the warlock self rez, you either Compare the striker class vs the Sunsinger class or you compare Fist of Havoc with Radiance(self rez).

  • I wasn't the one originally comparing striker vs self Rez. I only responded to it. I've also stated many times already striker vs sunsinger as a whole that obviously sunsinger is more useful. This was simply me shutting down the usefulness of self Rez in a team oriented situation in comparison to striker. If the only thing said player is going to use his super for is that incaseshit moment, he's no more useful than the striker.

  • Regardless throughout your replies to everyone I don't think you really understand the usefulness of self res. Self res is not just the crutch everyone thinks it is. using self res changes your play style completely. This allows players to be more aggressive take bullets for the team or play the roll that is harder or has more chances of dying. Also if you happen to die you have the ability to self res and prevent a wipe. Striker cannot do these things, you will still play the same style of play and even end up playing to risky having to get close enough to use FoH and if you die your dead and often will cause a wipe. Self res is useful and is team oriented just not in the same way as other team oriented supers such as defender or night stalker.

  • It changes nothing. If you're solely basing the self Rez ability's usefulness on the fact that you can play in hero mode then I believe it's you who doesn't quite understand the ability. Dying should never be something you're willing to do.

Again you are not understanding, clearly dieing in the first place is the last option but if you think preventing a TEAM wipe and the ability to in some cases protect your team knowing you can just rez if you die is not useful then your just being ignorant.

  • I've never been in a raid team that no one dies at least once. When somebody dies I pray it's a warlock. So yes I rather have a warlock. I was in a raid team with 4 warlocks at oryx cp. They were terrible players, kept dying but thanks to self res it didn't matter, we beat oryx. Had those players been using any other class, I am doubtful that we would've beat oryx.
