Lol was doing oryx challenge last week. Same dude kept dying. Was using a warlock, but didnt have sunsinger unlocked. Kept blaming it on it being his 3rd charachter then said it was bc warlocks are the worst class.
If you havent unlocked defender titan, shadowshot hunter, or sunsinger youre not ready for hard mode raid. Sinple as that.

For LFG groups, you're absolutely right. It's definitely doable without any of those but it will be much more challenging, and let's face it, if you want to raid your way it's better to do it with a group you know. Nobody uses LFG to find a group and then says "so, we're going to do this the hard way, guys!" Plus I'm not sure why you [i]wouldn't[/i] max out Sunsinger! It's an extremely versatile subclass. I used to love Voidwalker but since TTK launched, Sunsinger has really grown on me (although I tend to use Radiant Skin rather than self-rez for everything but Oryx). I've also thus far avoided raiding with my Titan and Hunter because I haven't fully upgraded my Defender/Nightstalker (mainly due to limited playtime and being Warlock-obsessed). Once I do, I'll start raiding with both. Not before.

I'm 319 on my warlock and I don't have suns singer, I use nova bomb or stormcaller

Work on your Sunsinger, dude. It's a superb subclass. I used to main Voidwalker, but am now a full Sunsinger convert. Don't listen to the people who say it's a crutch. It doesn't have to be. Radiant Skin + Radiant Will + Ram can turn your squishy Warlock into a proper tank.

What im trying to say is that dude i was playing with couldnt hack it and blamed it on something else. As a beginner, raiding for the first time, in order not to hold your team back or to just assist them, it helps to use those subclasses. Someone who knows the raid can do whatever. Ive used sunbreaker at golgie, when we had another titan in order to help clear out ads.

I have unlocked Sunsinger and leveled it up three times. Currently due to deleting my warlock multiple times it isn't fully leveled so I don't have selfrez. It's a crutch and is unneeded given u can just choose to stay alive. Besides, hard mode is easy.

It may be a crutch now, but self rez used to actually be useful. I know plenty of friends including my self who would activate it while alive to charge everyone's nades and melees . nothing like chucking 15 firebolts at a boss or whatever lol

Your situation is different. You know what you're doing. You've completed the raid many times. He couldn't even stay alive on the plate.
