The song bird known as shrike eats a wide variety of things from insects to rodents. Not interesting I know, but, the way it captures and eats it's prey is. In a fierce struggle, it grabs it's prey, and pierces it on rosebushes, barbed wire, sharpened branches, etc, and eats them at it's leisure. It also hunts and perches itself in plain sight to challenge any other shrikes for it's territory.
