Except Thorn isn't a Y2 weapon which means it's useless in Trials and IB.
It's still excellent in regular Crucible but weapons are judged by their effectiveness in Trials and IB where the level advantages make a difference.
Lots of guns are good in regular Crucible. The same cannot be said of IB and Trials
