Government shouldn't force you to put your money to good use. Also it is these billionaires that help run the economy. Think of Bill Gates, a man that donates a large amount of his is profits to charity and puts money back into his business which pays thousands of employees, construction companies that build the establishments, and everything in the building. The people they buy parts from, etc. Now why take this away? It is much more meaningful of people donate their money if they want to than if they are heavily taxed unwillingly and more likely not to spend that extra money if they think they may be overcome by taxes or that they have donated enough. My point summed up is socialism takes out the drive of the economy and the generosity of the people. Not to mention the laziness of those waiting for welfare checks that are continuously rewarded for nothing.

  • "Government shouldn't force you to put your money to bad use" lets start there. I see no need to spend millions to bomb some goat herders tent in Afghanistan. Until we fix that I dont care if my fellow citizen gets a snap card to buy groceries

  • Was talking about charity when I said GOOD USE which means it wouldn't go to the government but directly to the charity with no cuts of it going to military if they choose so.

  • I just want to say that donations are tax credits if you itemize it. So all the charity they give out actually cost them less in taxes. It's not because their nice or grand people. It's because they don't want to lose all that money they make.

  • Philanthropic billionaires are not common. You have one example. The truth is banks and major corporations continue to offshore all the jobs they can to boost profits and also try to avoid taxes. The system is broken and full of corruption from the corporate and govt side. Bernie may help improve the situation. What about the 2 trillion that trump mentioned went missing right before 911? Where did that go? Fed bank and Pentagon need to be audited but they shot down the last attempt...

  • They have been driven away by the high taxes bernie proposes to business owners. This causes them to MOVE JOBS away from america and prevent the money from going back into the american economy. This could be prevented with lower taxes which would keep jobs here, put more people in work, and reduce poverty. Raising taxes does not help the situation.
