Mine didn't come with firefly. it came with unflinching and return round to mag for precision kill if I recall. I could be wrong as I have gotten many of them now.
Now year one I used Praedyth's Revenge which has similar base stats as 1YS and was just as effective in PvP/PvE. It had firefly and it actualy netted me many extra and or easy kills.

The reward 1K Yard Stare came with Firefly after completing The Taken War Earth. Unless i'm mistaken and there is a second 1K Yard Stare reward in the game? I have one with Unflinching too, but that came from a Blue engram.

Your probably right as its been a while since I got mine and I have received like 5 or 6 of them in my casual play time. But they drop so often and the quest that they are anything but rare.
