Firefly isn't a great perk for PvP.
Unless you get some kick out of your opponent disintegrating into a fiery blaze upon a precision kill then I do not see any use of Firefly in the Crucible.
Hidden Hand and Unflinching are the way to go.
The real reason why 1K Yard Stare is so prominent is because other High Impact/Res Sniping Snipers have limitations.
One is Exotic (Black Spindle) meaning no Thorn, MIDA, Red Death, Bad Juju, TLW, TFC for you.
One is Hunter Exclusive (Stillpiercer) which cannot be equipped on Warlocks or Titans
The other (Eirene) has horrible scopes and can only be obtained through the Gunsmith rather than the RNG of engrams, Vanguard packages and Nightfalls.

firefly is the best in pvp i love shooting one headshot in trials and getting a triple down and it freaks people out in regular crucible i get freaked out when someone around me gets sniped and i take some damage randomly it at least has it's uses

Mine didn't come with firefly. it came with unflinching and return round to mag for precision kill if I recall. I could be wrong as I have gotten many of them now. Now year one I used Praedyth's Revenge which has similar base stats as 1YS and was just as effective in PvP/PvE. It had firefly and it actualy netted me many extra and or easy kills.

The reward 1K Yard Stare came with Firefly after completing The Taken War Earth. Unless i'm mistaken and there is a second 1K Yard Stare reward in the game? I have one with Unflinching too, but that came from a Blue engram.

Your probably right as its been a while since I got mine and I have received like 5 or 6 of them in my casual play time. But they drop so often and the quest that they are anything but rare.
