Light lvl to an extent shows skill and experience. I'm not sure why people get INSANELY offended when people mention that. Typically someone with high a light lvl has ran the raid multiple times, understands the mechanics, and typically doesn't suck ass. Unless they got extremely lucky and received the drops they needed with minimal run throughs. I will take a 315+ over anyone that's 300-310 any day. Unless I actually on now that person, they're probably not joining. Now before everyone starts throwing shit at me, I've had a fair share of people that were 310+ that were horrible. The past two Golg challenges I've done so far this week have collectively lasted around 3 to 4 hours. Just on that one CP. The challenge isn't even hard, some people are just horrible. Regardless of their lvl. But when it comes down to it, a higher light lvl is more welcome IMO. Unless I'm going through, helping friends or randoms after finishing my stuff, I will choose the highest lvls. People can get offended all they want and scream out elitism, but some people do not want to spend hours on one activity.

  • Light level at the higher end of the scale 300+ shows experience... Not skill. Chances are if you're over 315, you've played quite a bit, and got experience in the hard mode raid, but there is absolutely no connection with being skillful, as there are plenty of scrubs at 319-320 who basically got lucky RNG and were carried everytime.

  • Experience in a way transfers to skill....Unless you're basically brain dead and don't learn from mistakes while going through the experience. Unfortunately there are some like that. But, it's like I said. Most higher light lvl people seemed to have much less of a hard time running through the activities with ease compared to those that were closer to around 310 light. This is just from my personal experience.

  • That's because they take less damage, and do more damage due to their light level, it doesn't have as much to do with "skill". I don't care how much experience somehow has, they're not improving their reaction times or their aim.

  • Wow, so apparently you're new. You only have 3 completions on VoG and CE. I have been doing raids since VoG first launched, multiple checkpoints on both of those raids as well. Not trying to be a dick dude, but I've seen in way more cases that higher light usually means a better player. Not to mention the fact that between 310-320 there is little to no dmg difference. That has absolutely noting to do with anything. I've been through twice the amount of raids that you have and through my experience, people with higher light typically do better. It has nothing to do with their dmg output. Even when there was greater dmg difference between being lvl 29 and 30 and 33 and 34. I really don't know why you're trying to defend this.

Let me just stop you right there, this is a second PSN account which I didn't play on Destiny until June... I was on the Alpha, the Beta and day one, so no, I am not "new". But I like how you had to look through my profile and find some form of in game weakness to try and strengthen your silly claims, that's a classic sign of desperation. Also you said "closer to around 310 light" which does make a difference. That can be interpreted as anywhere from 306 - 314 and it absolutely does make a difference in damage input & output, only a fool would believe otherwise. The higher your light level, the more damage you can take, and the more leeway you get with making mistakes, not to mention that having a higher damage output generally means the fight will be shorter which means the window for mistakes is also shorter, do I really have to keep explaining this? Having the higher light level doesn't translate at all to being "more skilled" it just means you've had better luck with RNG. But you can keep trying to argue if you want, maybe you need to go through my account again and try find another weakness so that you can bolster your next moot point.
