Elitism a problem in destiny...
Recently i was called an elitist when doing a raid with an lfg team. When forming the team we had 5 318+ guardians and one of them suggested his lowly 309 friend to fill the last spot. Myself and another teammate showed our displeasure in having a low light character join us as we know for a fact that people who are 318+ are skilled and people below 310 are not.
Against our better judgement we let this player in. After 5 attempts on warpriest with the same 309 dying we finally passed it any moved on to golgoroth. There this player died alot. And then when i asked why are you dying all the time to him and that maybe you should raise your level to 315+ before doing a hard raid he snapped back at me you are an elitist.
I dont know why he called me an elitist. Maybe it was because i was staying alive and he was dying alot. Then he said that those requirements arent needed to beat hard mode and that is elitism because i have a higher light than him.
I am not an elitist but i do believe that one player is better than another based entirely on his gear. Its not my fault that he isnt skilled enoughto get to 315+.

Edit: we were wiping after the guy in the video missed grabbing the gaze causing most of the team to get wrecked.

5 RepliesLight lvl to an extent shows skill and experience. I'm not sure why people get INSANELY offended when people mention that. Typically someone with high a light lvl has ran the raid multiple times, understands the mechanics, and typically doesn't suck ass. Unless they got extremely lucky and received the drops they needed with minimal run throughs. I will take a 315+ over anyone that's 300-310 any day. Unless I actually on now that person, they're probably not joining. Now before everyone starts throwing shit at me, I've had a fair share of people that were 310+ that were horrible. The past two Golg challenges I've done so far this week have collectively lasted around 3 to 4 hours. Just on that one CP. The challenge isn't even hard, some people are just horrible. Regardless of their lvl. But when it comes down to it, a higher light lvl is more welcome IMO. Unless I'm going through, helping friends or randoms after finishing my stuff, I will choose the highest lvls. People can get offended all they want and scream out elitism, but some people do not want to spend hours on one activity.

If you're so damn skilled at LL 315+ why didn't you just finish the damn fight? Change the strategy, adapt to the situation. If you say you're gonna help carry then don't be such a whiny bitch if you have to wipe a couple of times. I can get my characters LL 315+ and still die to stupid shit. It happens, so instead of whining about skill, get a rain check on your own.

Since the enemies in the first 3 levels of the hard raid are BELOW 310, if you can't carry your weight there then you are lower skilled but people that survive there are not elitist.....if people have to carry you through a raid...don't bite the hand that feeds you

You should be able to carry one guy through the whole raid at 318+ I mean technically you should be able to 5 man the whole thing

Check my grim score... Bet I have more & hrs, got each class at 310, don't care to grind the raid w assholes like you to get 320. By the time I got to 305 I was about done playing daily.... Now I'm on to WARFRAME, if you don't know about this game, check into it, makes Destiny look like a child's game.

My first hard raid I was 298 however with lucky drops and challenge mode I got to 307. I would recommend 310 plus though. Just makes it easier.

To play Devil's Advocate, I would suggest the rest of your 318+ team are the unskilled ones if you cannot carry a 309 through Warpriest! I wouldn't call you skilled. I would say RNGesus likes you a bit more than others. And who carried you through the Hard Raid?

Instead of being cool about it, you were a condescending dickhead to him. Was it solely your skill that got you to your level, or was it the fact that you do raids with 5 other people who are also helping you attain your level? It sounds like you ruined the guys experience, so congratulations. You are a total elitist asshole. It's people like you that keep someone's light level lower than yours because you turn them off to the aspect of the game that gets you leveled in the first place. Exactly why I don't raid. Who wants to get told off and derided by a bunch of f-ckin kids anyway? It's a video game. Don't be such a prick about it.

We found them in lfg to do a VoG and we told them if they were interested in running a hard kings fall. I was a 313 and my friends were around 310 but they two guys were 306 since they never did kings fall and were taken king noobs. Thing is they died in warpriest and on every boss but we got it done with just 4 well communicated players carrying 2 noobs. My point is its not the noobs in your team fault its you and your teams fault for sucking and depending on a noob that if he dies you all fail. If youre all 318 and can't even complete the raid with him dying all the time you guys are a scrubby team. With your stats youre so far from being an elite player its not even funny.
