I haven't. But I shake my head a bit every time I notice someone putting their trust in government. I also think a congenital human problem is the eagerness to believe the world is about to end, during our lifetimes, because at some level we think it is all about us, and we can't conceive of it continuing without us. This manifests itself in many ways, religious end times, fear of nuclear war, climate change scaremongering etc. There is a flavor to suit your worldview.
