So what if I don't know what "Apocalypse" means?
It's not like it's the end of the world

The old and original English meaning used to mean something similar or along the lines of the word "revelation". That was until a well known archbishop had a vision or "revelation" of the end of the world. This was then known to be the apocalypse of saint john. Over time, the word eventually came to gain the meaning of the end.
