Not just the shader, you also have to find the armor that looks the best with the shader. I can give a somewhat poor example based on my taste. The old guard shader.... I love it. I think it looks better when applied to the new monarchy boots and chest piece than it does to the crucible armor. Even if the differences are subtle, I think it makes my hunter look sleek. However, I have noticed certain shaders barely even change certain armors, if at all and I have found that to be the case for my warlock.
Maybe destiny 2 will have better shaders and shaders that can be applied to your armor and even weapons in a more detailed way. I hate the seahawks colors on some of my gear.... that it just my preference.

I agree. My titan in full KF raid gear looks bad with the Ascendant Plane or Beltane, but equip either new IB helms, arms and chest with Peregrine Grieves and it looks amazing with just about any shader available. I find that a larger variety of hunter armour seems to benefit the most shaders out there though. The hunters just seem to have much more armour that can be matched to more shaders than any other class. It does come down to personal taste, but you are correct in saying some armour just doesn't do a lot of shaders justice, especially the warlock raid gear!

That black and yellow though on your titan and you have a grasp of malok with effin HEADSEEKER on it...... I want to 😭. What were the other 2 perks? Braced frame and glass half full? I would take those perks on so many weapons.

The shader is Cyan Stars and does look cool on my titan in most armour. The Grasp of Malok is a beaut! And yes, the perks are definitely perks I'd take on most primaries too!
