Recently, I've noticed that less and less people are really "falling in love". But why is this? Love comes in many forms; lustful love, mutual love, hateful love, familial love, friendly love, etc. For the most part, all of these forms of love are still present. So why does the phrase, "love is dead" even exist? Whether you write it off as angsty teenagers wondering why they can't get a date or for people who want justification for why they're still single at 30. The phrase is there, open to interpretation. What do you think Offtopic? Do you think love is dead, or do you think it's still alive and kicking...just in a different form? Is romance and chivalry a thing of the past?

  • Well me and my girl have been together about 4 years. We had a bit of a difficult past together before getting together. I'd had no problem talking to girls and dating girls but the problem with her was, she was something else to me. Something way more special than the rest. And that made it hard to talk to her. So much to the point that I had made her even think I hated her. And she's always been crazy for me and seemed really interested and was heart broken when she thought I hated her. So much to the point that she even slipped into a personal depression. It wasn't till nearly four years ago after going nearly a year without talking to her I finally got the courage to talk to her and tell her how I felt. While I was a shy nervous mess, Id never seen her eyes light up with such joy. Never seen such a beautiful smile from a persons face. She even started to cry a little tears of joy. And that made me happy. And to this day after being nearly two years out of high school and struggling on our own to live, we are still happy and I won't miss the opportunity to marry her too. I know this seems a bit corny to read like something out of a book but isn't that what real love is? Being literally head over heels for one another to the point that you'd over glorify your own love? Cause I don't know where i'd be today without her by my side. So in my opinion, love isn't dead. It's just some people try way to hard to find it while some never try hard enough. I believe everyone's got a soulmate. It's all up to fate on whether you find each other or not. Again sounds corny but that's my personal view on love.
