How to git gud at crucible :D

Hi Guardians, It came to my attention that some of you struggle in pvp (mainly because I kill a lot of you there…) So here are some tips to help you git gud ! 1. It's always your fault. Don't blame it on lag (except if you are playing with your friends than it's always lag) 2. Nobody is born a killing machine, practice makes perfect. 3. Strafe, strafe, strafe… 4. Did I mention strafe ? 5. Do not run except if you can't see anyone and your radar is empty, never in hallways, small areas… 6. Close or long range, mostly your choice but depending on the map a sniper can do way better than a shotgun and vice-versa… 7. Never engage in a fight you can't possibly win, run than hide and pick them up one by one. 8. Stick with your team or in rumble stick to 2 walls one in your back and one on your side with an easy escape/hiding point. 9. Ammo is important, you'll want to pick special ammo and kill the enemies waiting for heavy. 10. Corners are your friends, hug them. 11. If you have max agility (congratulations you chose the right class), use it, jump. 12. When your super is full wait for everyone to use them and than use yours BEFORE you engage. (If you have been shot don't use it.) 13. Learn how your enemy plays, if they spread or stick together, run, throw grenades when they panic… 14. Sometimes a rare weapon does better than an exotics in the crucible (except trials of course), look at the perks before you dismantle it. ALWAYS look at those perks, the same weapon with different perks can do a massive difference. 15. You got a strangers rifle when you finished the main vanilla story line, use it. 16. Pick a target and stick with it, you're not gonna kill that bastard in your back, keep shooting. 17. To play by their rules, don't fight a hardscoping sniper, make him play by yours, find a way around or let him live his life and kill the 5 others guys out there. 18. You got tea-bagged ? You are pushing too hard they are playing on that, making you rage so you rush, you now know their strategy give them a taste of their own medicine ! 19. You just got punched ? Punch then punch again immediately, there's nothing else to do. Hope you learned something, see you in the battlefield ;) If you have any tip feel free to share :) EDIT: I know I'm far from being the best. But I started this topic on the 6th of January 2016 with a K/D of 0.83, I now have a K/D of 1.05 on the 21st which isn't good by any means and I know there is a long road ahead but I call that an improvement so I'm gonna keep on adding more tips here along the road, sharing what I learned… It might work or not, but if I happened to help one person get one more kill thanks to a simple tip I think my job would be done.

 • A few questions with some of these:
3. Strafe, strafe, strafe… 4. Did I mention strafe ?
What is "strafe"?
5. Do not run except if you can't see anyone and your radar is empty, never in hallways, small areas…
Are shotguns an exception or no?
6. Close or long range, mostly your choice but depending on the map a sniper can do way better than a shotgun and vice-versa…
Which is, of course, if you can snipe. I have tried and tried with the highest aim assist and scrubbiest snipers out there and just can't master sniping. I'm lucky if I hit a two body shot. Yes, it is preference. However, is there a map that snipers are basically the only secondary worth using?
7. Never engage in a fight you can't possibly win, run than hide and pick them up one by one.
What if there's nowhere near enough to hide. Often, when against multiple assailants, I'll be picked off in a few shots. Would you recommend trying to get behind any sort of cover, jumping around, fighting, or what when there's nowhere to go?
8. Stick with your team or in rumble stick to 2 walls one in your pack and one on your side with an easy escape/hiding point.
Not really a question, but this one is difficult. Often, the teams split up to individuals trying to solo it. As for rumble, I'll try that.
10. Corners are your friends, hug them.
Why? Especially after the sniper comment earlier, why hug corners?
11. If you have max agility (congratulations you chose the right class), use it, jump.
Is there any reason to have max agility over armor or recovery?
13. Learn how your enemy plays, if they spread or stick together, run, throw grenades when they panic…
Do you mind PMing me the rest of this? Like, how to adapt. Say they're spreading. Great, so what? What technique does that entail? Etc. If you could PM me some tricks and how to tell, that'd be super great.
14. Sometimes a rare weapon does better than an exotics in the crucible (except trials of course), look at the perks before you dismantle it. ALWAYS look at those perks, the same weapon with different perks can do a massive difference.
Most rares I've seen are lacking, if nothing else, in the ammo department. As well, I never truly know which perks are good for which weapon. Not sure how to learn that though.
15. You got a strangers rifle when you finished the main vanilla story line, use it.
Over NTTE?
16. Pick a target and stick with it, you're not gonna kill that bastard in your back, keep shooting.
So target one person? Only one? Is that what this tip is? --- I know I'm bad at crucible, but I can agree with a lot of these. Very rarely has lag ever been a serious problem for me (only one IB that I can remember. Worst lag is SRL). Most of my deaths are on me (#1). And I do wish I could enjoy crucible enough to grind it endlessly for practice (#2). I get ammo whenever I can (#9). I do save my super, but unfortunately I'll wait too long to use it (#12). Good tips, just need some clarification. I truly do want to get better at PvP and think these will help. Also, I apologize if I sound sarcastic.
