Your statistics are bias. While giving statistics about other leading causes of death, you mentioned all relating deaths. Like getting in a car crash while under the influence of alcohol. Your bias, does not cover how many deaths occurred while under the influence of illegal drugs.
Also, just because half a million people die from one cause, doesn't make 250,000 deaths irrelevant. Imagine a world where all illegal drugs were legal. Picture it. Then tell me why it's a good idea to make some drugs legal.
