Dear Bungie,
It's okay that Activision went the cheap route and opted for P2P connections (unlike those turds at EA, who at least have the decency to support their product with dedicated servers) but could you maybe convince them to ping lock the connections?
We, as your gaming community, would prefer to spend an extra 60-240 seconds in Orbit waiting for a stable match than one setup instantly with the host providing 800ms worth of lag.
Sincerely,
Everybody who has played this game over the past year and a half.
P.S. Fire your Game Manager or prepare for D2 to succumb to the same faults. Slow development of content and patches, and the prioritization of revenue over playability will not buy back a jaded and disappointed playerbase.

Edited by Ismail_Yucel: 12/18/2015 9:26:05 AMCouldnt agree more...there was an article about matcmaking systems in multiplayer games. One advanced software was mantioned in the article which Bungie used in Halo. The software was enforcing latency, ping, geological factors in matchmaking. Dont know why we dont have such software in Destiny. Edit: found the study in below link. First one is Microsofts http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/people/sagarwal/sigcomm09-265.pdf http://synrg.csl.illinois.edu/papers/manweiler11switchboard.pdf

Edited by Forever277: 12/18/2015 7:07:42 AMOnly game i have an issue with My 100d/50u internet has no issues with any, literally ANY other game, 25ms-30ms pings all day, everyday Shit man, I'm usually 75-150 in an E.U region Wtf is wrong with their matchmaking prioritization I will gladly wait a min or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 to be regionally locked to an eastern u.s playerbase to guarantee a stable(also known as fun and fair) game.

Exactly. Thank you.

This is the only major release pvp game I've ever seen that is lacking the most basic matchmaking functions Every other game has Regions Ping rates Pvt matches Lobby modifiers and options Latency lockouts Crap connection autokicks MAP PREVIEW (i dont even need a vote, just give me more than an 7sec heads up on THE NEXT MAP so i can adjust my loadout accordingly, wtf man?? How does this game NOT have that) Even just those last 2 would be a humongous improvement Which is so, so sad lol

Edited by Val44: 12/18/2015 10:46:18 AMThis! So so so so much! I hate being matched up against americans . Its a guaranteed loss. They see me way earlier and are able to shoot me through walls. Make it more regional and latency specific.
-
It's bad for us over here too if someone on your side if the puddle gets the host Its fun for no one lol It really should be regionally locked You guys should be in an Oceania/South Asia region We should be in a Canad/U.S/Mexico region LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME ON THE PLANET lol I never understood this Only reason I can see is they were being cheap....but you don't need a warehouse full of servers to fix it, just software.

Bungie is doing a great job of convincing me that Halo was what it was because of the oversight and structure that Microsoft/XB provided. They weren't restricted by it, as they would like it to remembered, they were repulsed by the demand for quality work. I don't understand the nitpicking nerfs being on the forefront of the agenda, when most players would reap more benefits from a game that operates as intended. Well over a year after release and we have seen very little progress in improving connectivity, with it being a constant theme in every Destiny related forum and every Twitter response.

I would go as far as to say that the connectivity was never worse for me. And I am mostly a PvP player. My first char only got to level 20 because I played the Crucible. Didn't really touch the story before that. Well, and getting killed by Vex/Suros once too often made me realise that my trusted Cydonia AR 3, couldn't compete with those, so I decided that I need a better primary and started to play the story. I honestly bought this game solely for the MP at first. And still mostly play only that.

Who are u? We dont give a .... about u guys...

Lol, they're playing LAN games, their ping rate is probably measured in microseconds instead of milliseconds Must be nice lol.....
-
I wish I could play on LAN too. Would make for a more enjoyable experience when playing with local friends.
-
I used to play DOOM 2 in middle school in the early 90s on LAN all the time, so much fun and lag free.....
-
4 XB consoles, Halo, cooler full of beer, and about 460m of ethernet cables... Good times, indeed.
-
I did halo parties all the time in the early 2000's. Never used LAN (or any online gaming) before then. If people weren't playing on the same console as me, I would just play solo before halo came out.
