While I do not agree with removing an entire portion of the game, you make a sound argument that I can find no flaws with. I would only like to point out that many people don't play trials because they have YET to get any good 310+ weapons with the perks that they want/need to be successful in Trials (or even Iron Banner). Reintroducing gun rolling again would allow people to get weapons that they like, which would remove one of the barriers to playing trials.
But this isn't a post on why trials has so few players, but on the attitude of those who DO play trials. And on this topic I must concur, but I don't think the answer is removing the game mode. That would be like removing raids because of LFG Elitism. People are always going to be stupid jerks. Bungie's problem is that the jerks and crucibabies are the only ones they listen to. :/

I go flawless at 305, just saying

Yeah I know people don't need to be 320 to go flawless but I certainly cannot go into Trials with my set of Y1 crucible weapons and do well. And I am not going to go into trials without similar/equivilent weapons that I feel comfortable with because that is simply not a formula for success. People who run/gun will not do well with scout rifles, and Long-range focused combatants won't do well without a solid scout rifle. It's just common sense. Great PVE perks don't necessarily make a gun well suited for PVP.
I don't think removing the game mode is the answer either, but people need to wake up to the butchering of gun play in the game.
Agreed 100%. I used to love using Plan C in crucible but they got hit heavy with nerfs in Y1. I was hoping to get back to using it but then they blundered this patch. I'm just sick and tired of the cries for nerfs. Shotguns were never unbalanced in TTK, yet they got a double whammy nerf. Scout rifles and Snipers continue to be the most balanced weapons in the game. If they get nerfed I'm done for sure.
