Nah, it's the kids that suck at everything PvP that ruin the game. If they can't use their crutch guns to win or get a kill then they cry nerf.
Also, it's not just trials. Iron Banner has/is the place you see the most complaints about guns. Especially during the Thorn meta.
So, overall, I disagree. It's not the Trials players that complain. It's the people who suck at PvP that rely on meta weapons who get outgunned that immediately blitz the forums complaining. Because decent to good PvP players can adapt to whatever weapon is used.

What makes no sense is your acknowledgment that it's players who need to adapt, but in the same breath you use the phrase "crutch weapons". I don't disagree with your final assessment, but the whole " crutch" mentality is the logic behind too many nerf posts.
