"The rest of the Taken are mindless slaves. They've failed Oryx. I won't. Not anytime soon."
He took a shuddering breath.

Switch sighed. None of the conversations he was having were going anywhere. No one trusted him anymore, and it was too dangerous for him to stay in the city. He had demonstrated control, but people were too afraid and suspicious to accept him staying. Actions speak louder than words. He would have to show them that he wasn't a dark guardian, not really. All the last city had left for him now was denial and rejection. If he wanted to return things to normal, he'd have to find answers elsewhere, beyond the walls. Aries was still out there after all. He did this to Switch. He was going to pay. Severely. S: "Forget it... I'm leaving" J: "I am too" S: "No you're not, Jaden. I can't guarantee your safety around me, and I have no idea what being near to me does to someone in the long term" J: "yeah yeah, cut the crap space wizard. I can take care of myself" S: "This isn't something you can just protect yourself from by having good aim, Jaden" J: "I'm aware of that, but I'm certain that this sickness is in good hands. Your hands. If anyone can hit this thing in the ass hard enough to fly it back to whatever pit it crawled out of, its gonna be you. Besides, I don't think I can stand these thick assholes anymore" S: "what about Zaaria?" J: "She'll be on our side in this. Trust me on that. She loves is too much. Me more than you, but y'know, details..." S: "Heh. She's not that stupid" J: "She's a titan, so yeah she is" S: "Anyway, we should get going then, if you really wnat to do this" J: "I do, Switch. I do"

"You need protection. Someone who can teach you restraint."
-
S: "Go on... What do you mean by restraint?"
-
"If you get too angry, you'll most likely lose control. Your Darkness is determined by your emotional state. Get too angry or sad, it starts to take over."
-
S: "That's going to be a problem. I'm pretty pissed of at Aries right now and I don't think that's diminishing any time soon"
-
"Deal with it."
-
Edited by Moot: 12/14/2015 12:37:32 AMS: "then don't help me" J: "What's the point in offering help to him and then saying that straight after?"
-
"That's the only way to keep control. Build a bridge and get over it. Cope. Giving in to revenge will only let the Darkness consume you more."
-
Edited by Moot: 12/14/2015 12:54:45 AMS: "I'm only doing this partly for revenge. Killing Aries will also redeem Lake, James and Lakir, and everyone else who died today. I also think that's the only way to rid myself of this curse. He needs to die. Or at least..." Switch trailed off in deep thought.
-
"You'll be like Aries if you kill him. It just passes the role he has to you."
-
S: "In his eyes, he's already done that. But I don't have any other choice here if I want to be returned to normal. I can't live like this. I'm not even sure I count as living still"
-
"I'm not sure you can go back after being thoroughly corrupted like that."
-
Edited by Moot: 12/14/2015 2:26:26 AMS: "maybe not. I accept that I'm never going to be quite the same again. But I just know somehow that this can be reversed. Like I said earlier, what's happened to you and I respectively is quite different. I hold a piece of Aries inside of me; his physical dark embodiment of sorrow. I have some fragments of his hunger too, which I got from Lake. But I still have the light within me, it's just being suppressed right now. The point is, I need to return these fragment of Aries back to him if I want to lift this curse. And then, I'll kill him there to prevent this ever happening again"
-
"Wait, you can't feel it?"
-
Edited by Moot: 12/14/2015 2:36:50 AMS: "Can't feel what? I can feel a lot of things right now, and most of them are things I'd rather not feel right now. Not to mention the voices..."
-
"Your Light's gone."
-
S: "Not technically. It's not within me anymore, but it's not gone. I knew what Aries was doing to me before it was too late. I had a trick or two up my sleeve at the time. Preserving measures, if you will..." He slowly looked up at the traveler directly, as if he knew something about it that no one else did. As if he saw something inside of it that no one else could see. S: "...But, if you mean I have no possession over it anymore, then you're right. For now..."
-
"Hold on." Erik put a hand on Switch's chest and focused for a second.
-
Switch was expecting come kind of feint feeling to hit him the moment Erik touched him, as any guardian would in contact with a taken, but instead it felt soothing, almost inviting. Familiar. S: "What is it?..."
-
"Inspecting if you have cardiac cancer. I'm checking your Light." He rolled his eyes under his helmet, but smiled a little. Only a little.
-
S: "Uh thanks, but last time I checked, Exos didn't get cardiac cancer. We don't even have cardiac tissue..."
-
"It was a...nevermind. Anyway, it's barely there. Just a tiny sliver."
-
S: "--of light?"
-
"Yeah."
-
S: "Good. That'll be enough for now... The one thing of mine that Aries will never be able break is my will to serve the light. But anyway, I should have already left... I know a place. Secluded, tranquil, and safe. Somewhere to hide and recollect thoughts. Somewhere to just..." Switch and Jaden both became encased in a thick dark cloud of whispering black smoke that seemed to twist and turn like the ocean tides. After a moment or two it dispersed and settled, evaporating into nothingness in the air. Switch and Jaden had disappeared.
