" He's not dead yet. He will be soon. But it's not like you have time to worry about that." Aries disappeared and reappeared above Switch, bringing his elbow down onto his neck.

  • Switch smashed into the roof tiles face first from the impact, but he didn't let it sway him. He had tried to convince Aries that what he was doing was unnecessary and wrong, hoping that whatever shimmer of light that remained within him had heard his reasoning. But it wasn't working, Aries was too thick and blind with darkness to listen to such arguments. Play time was over. He blinked off his front and straight through Aries, passing across him like a sudden breeze. Switch rematerialized right behind him and swung his arm around, connecting his bare hand with Aries' face and grasping it tightly. Searing hot with solar light, it felt like having your head wrapped around in a 200°C metal boiling radiator. Switch threw Aries' head back in an arcing motion, smashed the back of it into his knee.

  • Aries shot out a pulse of thin Darkness. But it was powerful enough to clear out the entire room. The blast shot Switch out of the building and through a wall.

Switch's fall was broken just before the ground by the fabric rain cover of another deserted market stand. He rolled onto the ground as rubble and dust descended onto the surrounding cobbles. He had ideas, but not enough time to see them come to fruition. He just needed to engage Aries for long enough.

  • Aries blasted out in force. He kneed Switch in the gut, connected a right hook into his face, and summoned another sword to lop off one of Switch's legs.

In the fraction of a second, Switch sent a violent coursing of arc light through his whole body and legs, causing sparks to fly between him and the sword. The sparking electricity rapidly generated a strong negative charge between him and the sword, producing a static repulsive force that was too strong for Aries to overcome in such a brisk flash of time. The swiping sword nearly connected with Switch's leg, just before being bounded back as if the sword and leg were magnets with their same ends repelling each other. Taking advantage, Switch leapt up from the ground and kicked the sword straight out of Aries' hand, helped along by the repulsive charge, before discharging all of the built up arc energy straight into Aries' chest in a powerful overcharged Thunderstrike. The sheer power of the overcharged melee sent both Switch and Aries flying in opposite directions. Switch smashed into the market stand that had broken his fall while Aries flew straight into a brick wall.

  • Aries connected with the brick wall with a loud crash. But he was quick to react. He recovered fast and was on his feet. Just as Switch was getting up, Aries punched him in the stomach, but he followed through, and didn't stop running. This caused Switch to slam into four different walks before Aries' momentum was up.

Switch rolled violently along the ground after being thrown through the fourth wall, before finally halting his own momentum by sticking a foot into the ground and sliding along. At this point, most of his armour had been torn completely off, exposing his blue and heavily scratched body plating underneath. But it didn't matter; wearing armour or not would hardly make a difference in a fight like this. His chest was clearly dented in with a shape closely resembling a clenched fist. He spat out some loose metal from his mouth and groaned. He only needed a bit more time.

  • Aries didn't relent. He kicked Switch across the face, sending him through a wall and into an open square. Aries walked over to him and picked him up by the neck, before landing another punch, knocking Switch to the ground.

  • Switch took the punches, but he didn't try to fight back. He was letting Aries hurt him, but somehow it didn't look like he was giving up. Instead it almost looked like Aries was doing exactly what he wanted.

  • A portal opened up in the air just above Switch. Dark tendrils popped out and wrapped themselves around his limbs. Then they started returning into the portal. " This is over now."

"Yes. It is" Aries felt something in his back. He looked down to see a blazing and sharp white blade protruding straight through his chest, right through the cardiac area. The blade was glowing bright white, like a sword made from pure light. It was soo sharp, Aries had barely even felt it stab him. Jaden was standing behind him, holding the hilt of the sword firmly in both hands. He had thrust it straight through Aries' back and out the other end. J: "From the makers of James, in association with Lake, and brought to you by Jaden, I give you... This thing" The tendrils grasping Switch wailed and withered in the sword's direct presence, releasing Switch and violently constricting as if severely burned. Switch fell to the ground and slumped over in pain. S: "ugh...you always were a corny asshole, Jaden..."

  • Aries, only laughed. " Now that burns like hell. But.... You just forsakened the life of another comrade." He pointed in the direction of Hunger and Romii. That sword was Romii's only hope against Hunger. The cut areas around the sword started to mold over. The sword was now stuck in Aries, and it would not leave anytime soon. " So long as Hunger continues to give me energy, I can withstand this sword. And this sword is the only thing that can kill Hunger. What painful mistake on your part."

  • J: "oh my god. He actually did it? He did that thingy you said he would do! I thought you said this guy was entirely unpredictable." S: "No one is entirely unpredictable, Jaden" Gingerly getting up off the ground, Switch raised a palm into the air, directly aimed at the traveller itself. After muttering a few cryptic words, a brilliant bright spark of lightning erupted from the traveler's battered yet smooth surface, cutting and weaving through the air like a powerful lightning bolt. The spark connected with Switch's palm as he felt the full brunt of the traveler's power coursing through him. He then raised his other hand and placed it on the sword now embedded directly into Aries' chest, sending the bolt of energy straight into Aries' body. Switch was using himself as a conduit between the traveler and Aries, connecting all three of them together with arcing bolts of pure light. This time, it was too much. Aries and Switch were being directly exposed to the traveler's full power and potential. To Aries, it didn't feel like being replenished with light anymore; it felt more like being drowned and suffocated in it. The full exposure practically paralysed the both of them, locking them in their respective positions. Switch was barely able to talk. "Jaden, you need to get Hunger here somehow! Neither me or Aries can do anything helpful like this right now, and as long as hunger's alive, this won't kill Aries, it'll just restrain his ability. Find James too: he made this thing! Go. Now!!" •
Not yet.
Aries growled. Sorrow, the creature deep underground, now changed up its tactics. Putrid tentacles soared upwards and latched themselves onto the Traveller. It was stemming the flow of Light that was going towards Switch. Now the deadlock between Aries and Switch was weakening. Time was running out for them.
u dirty rascal -_-
Switch flicked his arm connected to the traveler, sending off smaller sparks from the main lightning bolt that would occasionally connect with sorrow's tentacles and send them reeling in pain. Alone however, it wasn't going to be enough in time. S: "what did I tell you? Go now! Move!" J: "Aye aye captain floofer..." Jaden ran out of the square and began searching for the abomination he needed, while also looking out for James.

  • Aries was grinning now. " At this rate, this'll kill the both of us. Are you prepared to die?" As for James, he and Lakir were fighting off Pride, Dishonour, and Insanity. Hunger was chasing after Romii.

Switch sneered at Aries as his eyes narrowed in on him. "Yes, I'm prepared to die if it benefits the greater good. Unlike someone else I've had the displeasure of knowing, who'd rather become a plaything of the darkness instead..."

  • Aries laughed. " Just what I was hoping to hear. However, the Darkness doesn't just sacrifice its pieces. It takes pieces for its own!" A dark aura started gathering on Aries' chest. It shot out at Switch. It was harmful, but it filling up what Light was his with Darkness. " You're about to witness what it's like to be one with the Darkness!"

  • Switch felt the darkness entering him sting like acid. "I'm flattered that you think I'm valuable enough for such a position, but I'd rather stay with the light thank you" Switch turned himself to directly face Aries, lowering the hand connected to the traveler. Instead of connecting with his palm, the erupting lightning bolt now coursed into his spine and back. Switch grabbed the dark tendrils emerging from Aries' chest with his now free hand and began to pull them away from him, each one he touched exploding into white ash and light.

  • Aries only intensified his attack. Now putting his own hands on Switch, the flow of Darkness was enough to topple the Light. Already, the first effects were happening to Switch. Like the voice of the Darkness. I see that Aries is taking yet another one.

Switch ignored the booming voice in his head and thrust the blade of light embedded in Aries' Chest upwards towards his neck, forming a long deep vertical wound that scaled half his torso, in hopes that it would cause enough pain to distract him. Meanwhile, Jaden had located James and Lakir, and was closing in on their position, jumping stealthily along the rooftops.

  • Aries was too far into the process to give up now. " Just surrender your will to the Darkness! If you don't, it'll make the conversion that much more painful!" The discharge of Darkness was enough to make the sword dim, until it was robbed of all Light, making it of little use. Already, Darkness was starting to seep from Switch.

"Agh...shit" The were no other choices left, and he was out of time. Regrettably, Switch broke the link between him and the traveler. The bolt of energy withdrew from his back and retreated through the air, snapping back into the traveler's surface. No longer needing to channel its light and power towards Switch, the traveler was free to focus its full attention on sorrow. The giant orb released a massive shockwave of light that stormed through the entirely of the last city. The closest of sorrow's tentacles to the traveler were instantly vaporised by the shockwave, while others further away screeched in pain and agony. The blast also levelled any buildings directly beneath the traveler, and caused both Switch and Aries to be flung forward and separated. Jaden took cover in a nearby building as the blast passed through, before going back outside and getting ever closer to James.

  • Aries stood up. Looking around, he laughed at the situation. He called for Sorrow to disappear. It wouldn't be needed anymore. In fact, it was about time he left.

  • "If you think you're going anywhere... Think again!" Switch was planning on firing a lightning bolt into Aries, but instead, a black aura of dark energy erupted from his arm and struck Aries in his head, shooting him back. The action left a painful and foul sensation in Switch's arm.
