Again, the same process occurred. But this time, Aries would play a cruel game. " Fine.... Let's play a game." In front of him, appeared a little girl. Innocent. Her eyes were filled with tears, because just a little while ago, her parents were killed. Aries picked her up by the collar of her shirt. A portal opened up beneath her. Multiple thrall claws came out, trying to take a chunk out of her ankle. They didn't advance, and Aries didn't do anything yet. But his intentions are clear. " Here's the game. You try your hardest not to move, and the girl lives. So much as breath and I let go, and she is left to her fate. You're going to stand there and watch this city burn, but at least you'll save one life."

"Agh...shit" The were no other choices left, and he was out of time. Regrettably, Switch broke the link between him and the traveler. The bolt of energy withdrew from his back and retreated through the air, snapping back into the traveler's surface. No longer needing to channel its light and power towards Switch, the traveler was free to focus its full attention on sorrow. The giant orb released a massive shockwave of light that stormed through the entirely of the last city. The closest of sorrow's tentacles to the traveler were instantly vaporised by the shockwave, while others further away screeched in pain and agony. The blast also levelled any buildings directly beneath the traveler, and caused both Switch and Aries to be flung forward and separated. Jaden took cover in a nearby building as the blast passed through, before going back outside and getting ever closer to James.

  • Aries stood up. Looking around, he laughed at the situation. He called for Sorrow to disappear. It wouldn't be needed anymore. In fact, it was about time he left.

  • "If you think you're going anywhere... Think again!" Switch was planning on firing a lightning bolt into Aries, but instead, a black aura of dark energy erupted from his arm and struck Aries in his head, shooting him back. The action left a painful and foul sensation in Switch's arm.

  • Aries was launched back, but landed on his feet. He turned around to face Switch. " Already using the Darkness within you? You couldn't resist its power, could you?"

  • "I didn't mean to-- what the hell did you do to me?..." Switch was looking at his own hands, practically in self disgust.

  • " I liberated you. I gave you a taste of what's to become of you. It's only through that new power that you have the strength to kill me. Accept your role. Because now you're on the other team."

  • "I can hear it, the darkness itself. I can hear them in my head. Those abominations of yours. I can feel them, talk to them, contr-- oh wait. I can control them. Well then..." In that instant, a tendril of sorrow erupted from the ground next to Aries and swiped straight into him, knocking him into a concrete wall with a loud crack. "I may have changed sides for now, but I've kept my own will. I still see you as the enemy here; a blight to be purged. You and all your foul incantations. All of them are going, permanently. And I'm not going to stop until that fate comes to fruition. You've just given me an extra tool to carry out what I decide. Oh and don't worry: I'm not going to stay like this. Trust me, this stench of darkness is almost unbearable, and it reeks on you"

  • Aries got up, still grinning. " Of course. I expect nothing less of you. Except, you can control my abominations. They aren't creatures of the Darkness, they're creatures born out of me. Each one was ripped out from me, and can be pieces together. So what you just did..... It just solidified your downfall. You are no longer a Guardian. You will never be a Guardian ever again. Your fate is sealed."

  • Switch didn't want to admit it, but he knew Aries was at least partly right. He wasn't ever going to be quite the same again after this. "I'll find a way to get rid of this infection, trust me on that. There's nothing I'd like more right now. But perhaps I should play as some sort of role model to you: be everything you couldn't be, do what you couldn't do, amend what mistakes you made. Your mistakes. You. You did this to me. And for that, if it wasn't personal earlier, it sure is now. I'm not just going to kill you. I'm going to make it hurt" Switch's body began changing and warping into a black smoke, which suddenly catapulted towards Aries in a fast straight line, like an agressive dark jetstream. Just before reaching Aries, the smoke solidified back into Switch, where he maintained momentum and planted his knee right into Aries' face, whipping his head back violently.

  • Aries was launched back. He didn't even fight back now. All he did was laugh and grin. " Oh I see it now! You're going to become a much more powerful pawn of the Darkness then I could ever dream of! It will be you that will pick up where I left off. I won't bring about the end of the Light. No, that'll be you. You're proving that right now, with every hit you throw at me."

  • "Heh... Maybe I will. I'll just do that: Succeed where you failed. But to start, I'm going to need a few things of yours..." Once again, sorrow's many tendrils emerged from the ground all over the city. But instead of attacking, the tendrils all arched over in great arcs, drooping down into the square where Switch and Aries were, and connecting with Switch's body at their epicentre. Soon enough every tentacle in the city was linked to Switch, burrowed into his back. "Let's start by taking your sorrow" Within moments, every tendril in the city twisted and evaporated into a thick black mist. The mist converged on Switch as all of it diffused into his body, eventually becoming fully absorbed. Sorrow was gone. All that remained of him was a voice inside the heads of both Switch and Aries.

  • " Do as you will. It matters little to me. My part in this bloody chapter is done. I've transferred the mantle of Champion of the Darkness to you. Now it is up to you. And once you fall from the Light, there is no turning back." Aries started walking away. All of his abominations were recalled. Soon he disappeared. All that was left was the destruction and the death.

  • "No..." Switch fell to the ground in utter defeat. He felt nothing but the sorrow he had absorbed, and his whole body ached with the pain within. He didn't know what to do, or even how to react with what had just happened. He just lay in the dirt and rubble on his back, and looked hopelessly into the sky. "Aries... I will find you... And I will kill you..."

  • 'You won't die happily, believe me. You might have a short time where you're blissful, but it's downhill from there.'
