Sitting in second almost the entire race with barely a sparrows length separating myself and first place on Venus. Finally, as we enter the tunnel area shortly before the teleport he misses a gate and I seize my chance to take the lead. Gate after gate is struck with the precision of a F1 driver. Through the teleport, only 3 gates stand between me and the finish line. Straight through the centre of the first gate leading into a slight right turn through the centre of the penultimate gate perfectly. All that's needed is a leftward boost and nothing can stop my impending victory. I boost through the final gate and off the ledge, the finish line mere seconds away. I begin celebrating my inevitable victory, when out of nowhere, 2nd place flies right over the top of me and finishes almost a second ahead of me. I scream multiple profanities at the player, the Xbox and the morons who made this possible (bungie) before switching my Xbox off and watching TV.
