James," Dark Guardian. A pretty nasty one at that."
-
"Oh. Great."
-
James," Don't need to be here if you don't want to."
-
"Might as well. Haven't had any action in a while."
-
"You and me both. Until that crash of mine, of course. That's almost too much action for me actually" Switch-5 nodded in greeting to the fellow guardian.
-
" Very well."
-
"So...we goin' or what?"
-
Lakir," We were waiting on you to catch up." With that, they started moving again.
-
apologies for the late reply. I was showering.
"So... Why now? Why choose now to go after Aries? And are you guys even sure you can take him? Last time we all met together, there were a lot more of us and he still got away. Admittedly, half of everyone there also turned out to be dark guardians, but still..."
-
James," It's now or never. And we have become more powerful than last time. Aries has to go. Now."
-
"Glad to hear it. Do we know his location? I know it's this city, thanks to the dark storm, but do we know any specifics?"
-
James," Aries has been in this city before. In fact, it holds a significant part into his fall from the Light. I can only think of one spot he would be."
-
"Good. Some progress at least..." Switch blinked up on top of a large rubbled pile of concrete, weathered trees silently erupting from the crevices between. Speciation was unfolding everywhere he looked. "You guys lead. We follow"
-
James nodded. " We'll be sprinting it from now on." He led the way, at a fast pace.
-
"Got it" He descended from the rubble and followed behind the others in quick pursuit, their boots kicking up the age-old lingering dust as they traversed the derelict streets.
-
After what seemed like thirty minutes, they reached the centre of the city. Here the Dark storm was even worse. The air here was stale and dead. Decay was spreading all around. Straight ahead, a courtyard stood, overlooking the river that cut through the city. In this courtyard, a lone figure stood, overlooking the river. James, Lake, Lakir and the rest get in positions covering the entrance to the courtyard, so the only way out was through them or the river. Aries noticed them coming as they entered the city. He had wondered how long the peace would last. Long enough, it seemed. Without showing much interest, he turned around to face the Guardians in front of him. Aries," So...... Who's going to die first?"
-
"Expecting us?" Staring Aries down, Switch slowly split himself from the group on a surrounding fashion to reduce the number of exits open to the dark guardian standing before him.
-
" A good four hours before you even knew to look here...." Aries doesn't move or shift his gaze. He is leaning on a railing with his arms crossed.
-
Edited by Moot: 12/10/2015 2:05:19 AM"Well, thanks for the storm. Led us right to you. You're paying for my ship by the way, but that's not at the top of the priority list just right now..." Switch stopped encircling Aries, standing steadfast in his new position. Calmly yet swiftly, he removed both his gauntlets and allowed the armour to fall to the broken, cracked ground, exposing his metallic mechanical forearms to the air. "To put this simply Aries, you have three options. Each one will most likely end up with you dead, but the path to each death is potentially quite different:" "Will it be death by mercy, by vengeance, or by redemption? Your choice. Or theirs, rather"
let's continue tomorrow. You can reply but I need to sleep now, so bai.
(( I see what you did there (•_•) )) Aries almost laughed. " By all means. Try to land a hit on me. See how that goes..."
-
A peculiar green bullet flashes by and pierces Aries' knee.
-
" Ouch." His voice was monotone and particularly uninterested. The hole in his leg healed back rapidly.
-
It started to heal, but a small green flame sprouted and it stopped. 'That won't work anymore.' A Hunter stood on the edge of a building close to them. He held a black Last Word with green flames licking the edges. His armor was black with green flame as well. His Mask of the Third Man was different, as if there was an actual hole into the cosmos where the faceplate was, with the same ominous flame.
-
" There is always a simple solution." His entire leg seemed to wither away. In its place, a new one grew. Aries looked at the Guardian. The Guardian felt the tip of a knife touch his neck. A clone of Aries was right behind him. " Even big problems like yourself can be solved with a simple solution."
-
The 'Guardian' just laughed. 'I wouldn't. You wouldn't like to piss off my friends.'
