Oh you mean like having to reearn all of my exotics that carried over into year 2, at the tune of 125? Legendary marks each? Then having to relevel them up? Oh and all those legendaries I busted my ass getting and worked so hard for that etheric light to get them max level? Cant infuse them... even though its literally about the look/having got a perfect roll. A legendary launcher from vanguard is a legendary launcher from crucible. No special perks etc. But yet we cant infuse because they want us to use "new" weapons. You mean reskinned? Gr8 b8 m8.
Yep. Only difference is you don't lose your year 1s to get the year 2s. & you don't have to grind to level up gear. Motes give exp & there's no shortage of em. & exotic armor comes with their exotic perk for free now. Side note about legendaries: bungie completely redesigned legendaries because of all the complaints about people rerolling for god builds. They also got rid of rerolling entirely. What would be the point of doing all of that if people just infused their rerolled weapons?

  •
What would be the point of doing all of that if people just infused their rerolled weapons?
Because they also already COMPLETELY nerfed virtually every perk from Y1, for that EXACT reason. None of those potential rolls are "God-tier" anymore, man. They already dealt with that issue in the 2.0 patch, therefor capping Y1 was completely unnecessary. Also, PvE is the only area that's negatively affected, while PvP players can largely still use the without issue. Pretty asinine to nerf weapons based on PvP issue, yet ONLY leave them to be viable in PvP, don't you think? -_-

Almost everything you just said is wrong. Just because bungie removed some perks doesn't mean all of the god rolls are gone. There's also an entire archetype of sniper rifles in year 1 that's been reduced to 3 snipers in year 2, & 2 of them can't be used universally. & the nerfs affect both pvp & pve. The meta for both activity types has changed drastically since destiny was 1st released. Not trying to be condescending, but are you new to destiny?

  •
Just because bungie removed some perks doesn't mean all of the god rolls are gone.
Dude, read the 2.0 patch notes.
"We have revisted all of these Year One stat perks and reduced the amount they buff your weapon stat to re-normalize against Year Two weapon lethality"
On top of straight-up removing certain perks, they substantially nerfed most of the Y1 perks, and I do mean substantially; about 50% less effective, on average, and as high as 80% for quite a few. Statistically speaking, those "God rolls" do not exist, anymore; fact, not opinion. And, I'm quoting facts because I actually know what I'm talking about, unlike most! :P
Not trying to be condescending, but are you new to destiny?
-Beta player. -Day 1 player. -Full VoG weapons and armor, on all three classes. -Full CE weapons and armor, on all three classes. -Full ToO weapons (including Adepts) and armor, on all three classes. -Almost full PoE weapons and armor, on all three classes. -Multiple Skolas kills, on all three classes. -Every Y1 Exotic, most of them maxed. -Full "Triumphs" completion. No, Im not "new to Destiny," by any means. ;)

  •
"We have revisted all of these Year One stat perks and reduced the amount they buff your weapon stat to re-normalize against Year Two weapon lethality"
Normalizing these stat upgrades doesn't change the fact that certain combinations of year 1 perks can make some weapons better than any year 2 ones. I have some friends that still use their year 1 weapons in crucible because they're leaps & bounds better than anything they've received from TTK. Maybe "god roll" isn't the right phrase to use, but I say it because they still refer to them as such. Btw, props for doing your research before posting. I wish more people on the forums were like you.

  • Because you cant ever purchase a launcher that has horseshoes and tracking. Shit, tracking period theres only one. I never rerolled because it was not worth it but these new perks are ass. So again you have to grind. To get those motes youre so fond of to level up weapons and armor? Grind. You have to grind to lessen the grind. You are correct I didnt lose year one but you said their point was they wanted people to more easily get to max dmg max defense after new dlc came out cor exotics. 150 legendaries is not easy and is so grindy that I gave up considering you get a 4 weekly heroic playlist limit

The perks are only bad when you compare them to the rerolled weapons from year 1, which can explain why bungie left them in the past. That & ttk is basically a sequel, so progress & things of that nature. Marks & motes are hardly a grind now. I almost always have around 150 motes on each of my characters without trying to get them. & they nearly doubled the mark drop rate. There are also weekly activities that can get you around 200 marks just by completing them. If you think any of that is a grind, you should probably take a break from destiny, or stop playing altogether.

  • Okay. So 200 marks a week... is less of a grind than 300 marks a week? Randomizing strange coin drops is less of a grind than guaranteed strange coin drops for three characters? Oh and 300 marks a week just for vanguard side. 600 in total. Also if this is supposed to be a sequel then stop. Just stop playing. Because as bare as vanilla destiny was, this is bare as it gets IF its supposed to be a sequel. Its not. Its an "expansion" which is very loosely used because the amount of gameplay you got in vanilla is the size of an expansion for any other game. And yes you keep saying rerolled and I keep saying I didnt reroll to get my sweet perks. To solve this they could simply have gotten rid of rerolling. Thats it. But no they got rid of it and made all year one weapons obsolete. To be clear I dont have a problem with us having to buy year one exotics as year two exotics and I'm okay with leveling them up all over again but 150 marks (see above) is ridiculous for one item. I got a 290 hawkmoon to drop with three of coins and got super excited even though I had the year one all because I didn't have to grind to get it. And that, my friend, is sad. Especially when they said before TTK that they wanted the game to be less of a grind. /endrant.

  • Yes 200 is less of a grind than 300 & 600. With the new marks system, getting 300 or 600 now would still be less of a grind than it was before. & strange coins drop more abundantly now than before. I got 27 a week before TTK came out by doing heroic strikes, & I still get around that same amount without grinding for them. They can call it whatever they want, but it's essentially a sequel. A new armory bigger than vanilla's, a new leveling system, a new story mode (actual story mode, not 3 or 4 missions like the first dlcs), etc. 150 is a steep price to get a year 2 version of a gun you already have, but it is way less of a grind to get them & use them than it used to be. 3 of coins makes it easier than ever to get exotics, so it's not like you have to buy every single exotic you want.

  • Correction 3 of coins used to make it easier. They nerfed it. Now its almost in the same class of broken as husk was.

  • Rng drops of strange coins does not equivocate to less of a grind. So much so that ive been saving them for the stuff I REALLY want. I agree 300 or 600 would be less a grind but they dont allow it. I guess the weekly grind is less but you literally have to spend it every week or you are screwed. And its 200 per character which means to get everything you want for 3 characters is more overall grind
