Remember the "Starter Pack" and "Subclass Infusion" consumables that were datamined back in October? Those will be sold after this December update (before the new wave of Christmas noobs).
The Starter pack by the way was a Spark of Light (instant Level 25), a Subclass Infusion (instantly max out a subclass of your choosing), and an assortment of materials to get you started.
Subclass Infusions were the same as above, except sold individually so you can level up a subclass you may have neglected.
At the time Luke Smith specifically denied the existence of the raid drop boost consumables but he didn't say a word about these shortcuts.
They're coming. You heard it here...

I'd be ok with that, I've been too lazy to level my storm caller recently. Lets be honest, yes it sounds like it would be a killer, but in reality, all it would be doing is letting new players catch up to us. We already have them, were at no disadvantage whatsoever, it makes no difference to us, just expands the end game player base quickly. Considering 99% of the complaints on here are about the grind, taking it away would help wouldn't it? I've already got there. Got a tonne of materials. Makes no difference to me whatsoever.

Hey, I never said it was a bad thing. I'd use them. I've been wanting to make a Warlock to round out my three slots but the thought of grinding up another character is too daunting when I don't have much time to play. I'd gladly spend a few bucks to save some of that grind and get a capable character "out of the box".

Reducing grind for real money is pay to win in a game like destiny.
-
Edited by pixelmagic: 12/4/2015 9:48:12 AMApart from the fact that by paying you never win anything, more like pay to catch up to the rest of us. If they got something exclusive that gave them an in game advantage over those that didn't pay, thats pay to win. If you could ONLY BUY Thorn, and it was a game breaking gun, thats pay to win. If by paying for this subclass levelling thing it granted you extra abilities that non paying people could not get, thats pay to win. If you feel everything is a grind you really should consider wasting any clearly valuable time on a video game you enjoy. I got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning :)

I wouldn't mind, it would be a positive thing for the game!
-
If that happens I'll give both copies of Destiny away for free.
-
My copy of Destiny if you're right.

Bungie claimed that: "Consumables are not being planned to be sold and were not ever planned" (or something like that.) But Tess and her shop say somewhere that "Consumables are non-refundable." So idk what's happening with them right now..
-
Basicly,"we didnt realy plan on it... But since ur all butthurt we're doing it anyway"
-
"We'll just wait for the shitstorm to calm down then do it anyway!"
-
Could be that they plan to add in consumables for effect. Flaming head, different warp appearances, etc. Things like Flight of Shadows and Jackolytes.
-
They were talking about the ones that were supposed to increase the chances of loot drops in the raid. Luke Smith mentioned them specifically when he denied the rumors. He conveniently left out these shortcuts in the denial though.

Wake up sheeple

Bump for da truth

Actually, I heard this someone else first...not here.
-
He didn't say you heard it here first douchebag.
-
Yeah he did, but he edited it. Now who's the douchebag?!
-
My last edit was 3 hours ago, long before you posted that I supposedly changed what I said. I said "you heard it here", I didn't change that part.
-
Shhhhh
-
You are because you're yelling lol. Sorry man, didn't see the edit. I take it back. You are a anti-douchebag.

Data mined stuff is in no way official

Edited by TheFrozenInferno: 12/4/2015 3:52:13 AMIt's not, but think about how much sense it makes: Christmas noobs will want a head start on a game that is over a year old, and it would be a goldmine for Bungie to offer stronger shortcuts at this stage. They need the player base to grow as the game gets older and these would be a huge incentive. Spark of Light was one thing, but it does little to reduce the grind of getting one subclass leveled let alone three per class. And with the Nightfall XP buff removed and bounties nerfed it takes longer than ever to level a subclass. Having the option of spending a few bucks to save countless hours of grinding is a no brainer and they would sell like crazy. It's genius, really. Mark my words they are coming, they would be crazy not to from a business standpoint. New players would buy them and veteran players might buy shortcuts to level a subclass they've neglected. Hell, I'd use a starter pack to finally make a Warlock and I've been playing Destiny for over a year.

That's one of the best arguments I've ever heard on Bungie.net, I congratulate you and you have convinced me.

Could use those items to max a subclass for those achievements
