So what if I use the same armor I used in Year 1 to experience Year 3 content? I'll help you out here with the sad truth: The reason you must change is because there's so little content the only thing to do is chase gear. Ironic isn't it - that they are so focused on making you chase new gear that they invalided both previous raids and a slew of other content. If they would focus on the content and not the gear chasing, we'd be running cross country instead of on a treadmill.
