oh you mean kinda like C.o.D/BF does with scopes and stocks and mods and camos............oh wait its the exact same thing.
every game has something in it that is a ploy to extend play time without actually giving you new content, even fallout 4 has it with mod support, its the same content, just a different skin over it.

Yeah but we would all probably shit our pants if you could customize weapons in destiny using parts you earned from playing.
-
you mean like they give as perks for the weapon? 3 different scopes and 3 different performance options and 2 perks to give added bonus. its the same idea just done differently
-
With a lot less options since you're hamstrung by RNG on those perks. Now, if I could manual choose the perks I wanted on my gun that would be another story.
-
That would be great....if it didn't mean that every gun would be exactly the same. Bungie has a huge problem making perks that are actually fun to and challenging to chose between. there are so many horrible, useless perks that every slot has a clear and defined "BEST" perk for PvP and PvE. Some of the perks are just atrocious. just so freaking horrible, that you wonder why they are even in the game..
-
I definitely agree they need to step up their game in the weapon quality department. Yet I'm still stuck at the mercy of the deplorable RNG. In crucible I still use Y1 guns because I still haven't gotten a decent Y2 Sniper or LMG that fits my playstyle.

So you are comparing a full list of optics, stocks, grips, barrels, bullet caliber and silencers to what we have now which is a meager perk tree (which we all set up the same due to performance). Not to mention the pick of 20 plus color options and or graphics. Don't get me wrong I love destiny but as my previous post said if we were given this level of customization plus "skins" or shaders or what not earned through actual gameplay (like "hey you killed 10000 thrall you have unlocked said weapon shader") we would be overly delighted (shit our pants). I know it's just a different type of carrot but at least it might help get rid of the weapon meta and provide us with new reasons to compete the same content over and over. I certainly would have a silenced, gold plated mida with quick grip on standby.

CoD uses a carrot on a stick to get us to play. Destiny uses baby carrots. ;)
