This. People don't understand how many people in this day and age actually do know how much effort goes into making a game. That being said, this community gets shafted by idiots complaining about stupid things far too often.

I'd beg to differ. People probably understand the different job titles that go into making a game, and think that it's as simple as point and click to adjust adjust a few lines/pixels. I do think that there is an increase of understanding due to the popularity of gaming and the professions that go along with it, but would venture to say that most don't fully grasp the sheer number of hours that it takes to create a game under the helm of a triple a developer. I have somewhat of an insight due to many friends working as Programmers, IT Managers, and Network Engineers. Plus, I had a brief stint at id software - the creators of Doom(granted it was security but i still got to see how they operate on a day to day basis). With all that I can still only fathom what it must take to complete a video game. Of course, I am basing my opinion off of what I see in most posts of I want it now and now is already too late.
