Grixis watched everything through warped vision. Everything was either pure white or black as night, but he saw everything more accurately than he ever did before. He watched as Calvik reared back at the attack that separated his arm from his body. He couldn't have that. A Blade would have no weakness, it was that or die. But Calvik was unique among the Hive, they all were. It would be a simple procedure to fix. The dark powers that once belonged to Oryx, after at least an hour, finally ceased as it was finally all transferred into their Oversoul. But there was one more thing that had to be dealt with. The Titan was currently boosted by Reborn energy. Since he wasn't originally dead, it would drain very quickly, but they were ready and they were not going to wait. He would have made an excellent addition to their ranks, but there was no control to him. He would only be a liability. The Oversoul, with one more show of cataclysmic vigor, grew bright as it began to sap what was currently left of Reborn power in the Titan. The procedure didn't take all but ten seconds to complete, as it finally died down, and left the Titan completely drained of its temporary strength. With that, the Oversoul vanished, returning everything to its original state. His vision returned to normal, as did his body, the same with Sarkon. The collection of Hive now stood on the altar with them, Calvik clutching at his arm, with the titanic ship of their Dreadnaught behind them. "You tried, Guardian. But in the end, your endeavor was for naught. When we meet again, it best be with an army at your back. The Light's days are numbered," Grixis said. With that final statement, they were all converted into ash, and transported back aboard their Dreadnaught, leaving the Guardian alone in Oryx's throne room. ---------------------------------- Anaxis' jumpship warped out of the blue wormhole, back into the black gulf of space, leaving nothing but the gas giant, Saturn to fill the viewport. Anaxis looked out across the rings, seeing the crippled Dreadnaught surrounded by a Hive fleet, with Sarkon's Dreadnaught in front and above it. "Damnit, we're too late!" He cursed. His fear only grew when the fleet rose above the rings with their Dreadnaught into an array of green portals. "Maxus, track those ships, where are they headed," he told his Ghost, watching the fleet pass through the threshold of the portals. "They're-" he paused for a few seconds before speaking again. "These coordinates, they're not returning to Jupiter." "What?! Where are they heading?!" "I don't know, these coordinates, I've never seen them used before. I don't know where they are going." At the last statement, the fleet passed through the portals, headed to wherever they were going. He slunk back into his seat, staring at the spot where the fleet left. This was his only lead to what Grixis was doing, and now for the first time in his life, he was left in the dark, completely unaware of what was going to happen next. But one thing was certain. Death was coming for them all.
