Kotuka (or whatever his mans his) finally released a collection of interviews and data regarding destiny a few weeks back. It's s great read, and most of my suspicions on what happened to destiny were right, except for activision. They have had almost nothing to do with what's happened/happening. The most pre-release impact they had was bungie going to them asking for more time, and activision giving it to them. He can't site any sources, as they anonymous interviews, but if you were following the scene before destiny came out, and see what it has become now, it all fits.

  • *Kotaku. Anyway, I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I think Activision's reputation speaks for itself. There has to be a reason why Bungie went from being one of the most highly regarded developers to only caring about the money.

  • I'm pointing the finger at Luke smith for what's happened/happening to destiny. Every decision he's made is for himself, and not the consumer/community/player. In the Kotaku article, the interviewees said blizzard (Diablo 3 reaper of souls blizzard) came to talk to bungie after the release of destiny. Gave them advice and tips to fix a dying and disappointing game. Told them they need to make the game for the players, not for themselves; there the key to a successful game. I don't see Luke listening to any of that, and in fact he seems far more like the original asshole that made Diablo 3 terrible and had to be resigned/let go.

  • You do realize he's just a part of the Bungie team right? I doubt he makes all of the decisions.

  • I know, but it seems like he heavily influences them
