And Idk how long you've been around and paying attention to the world, but most people over a certain age realize that blaming a single reason or cause for a problem is usually an oversimplification. Let's not forget that if such early consoles had extras, they usually came with a version of the game that came out after the initial game did. And if they were DLC, then they were typically very small things early in the time that DLCs actually became a thing. Nowadays, DLC is expected from most games, and as such, devs have to commit much more working hours towards it, which involves paying everyone who keeps the building open and the computers working and the trashbags empty. And then, of course, you have to actually keep the people working on the game payed. And I'm sure I don't need to tell you that at this point, quite a decent amount of money has been spent. Most people realize that since we live in a capitalistic society, that most anyone and everyone looking to turn a profit will cut corners in order to do so. And this isn't limited to the gaming industry, since it's been a part of human nature since we decided trading favors wasn't good enough. Of course, blaming a single cause or reason for a problem has been a human trait since time immemorial as well. It has led to some of the biggest wars we've ever fought and some of the biggest atrocities we've ever committed. All in the name of ending war, poverty, disease, suffering and the list goes on. Because we get it into our heads that these problems all have singular causes, and that therefore, it's easy to solve them. Now, I'm not saying that you blaming your perceived problems with the gaming industry on those of us willing to pay for a dance or two is on par with WWII. What I am saying is that it's exactly this kind of thinking that has led us down roads that we were promised would solve all of our problems, but of course they didn't. And to blame a single reason for any problem is more often than not oversimplifying the problem, and solves nothing
