I tried my hand at writing XD My own story: Its voiced pierced through the silent darkness like the vex through time, its words, barely comprehensible to the young hunters ears. “Can anyone else hear that?” he spoke in a hushed tone to his fireteam “Hear what?” Nina, the defender of the group, said “The voice, it feels like it’s calling me,” his voice, which had just earlier been quiet, was now loud. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” chimed Vlad the sunsinger “Hold on, I’m gonna scout ahead and see what this is,” the hunter stated As he delved deeper into the cave, the voice became louder, more comprehensible. “Come, young one, let me show you the truth,” it spoke, deep and hushed, as if it were trying to whisper in his ear. “What are you talking about? What truth? Who or what are you?” The hunter spoke out. “I am what remains. I am the last, the lost. I am the one who seeks vengeance, the one who seeks retribution. I am whom you seek,” the voice, no longer in a whisper, but a calm shout. “So, the rumors are true, you’re the ahamkara the vanguard had spotted. You truly were the last of your kind.” “Come. Forward into the cave, warrior of the light. I will show you. I will show you all your kind has done to us. I will show you the truth.” The voice subsided once more. The hunter, whose father was the only known hunter to ever slay an ahamkara, pushed forward into the dark. After about an hour of walking, the hunter found a ledge, leading down into what seemed like a lush jungle coated in midnight black. “Is this where you want me to go?” the hunter called out “Yes. Descend. Seek the truth” the voice called from a distance He dropped down into the jungle, landing on what seemed like bones. A sudden nervousness came across him. As he walked forward, he found a rock wall with a large hole torn into the side. “Come forward. You have sought the truth. You have found it.” The hunter’s mind went blank as he walked forward into the cave. His head was pounding, like something was trying to break free. What he saw, what he heard, and what he felt. It all didn’t feel real, he felt like he was detached from reality. The only thing he found in the cave was a pile of bones. He pulled out his ghost to scan them. “These bones are only a few days old. How quaint. Wait… something’s speaking to me. I’ll tr-... decrypt wh-.... say-... Guardian, you need to see this, it’s horri-....” The light of his ghost went out as it dropped to the floor. He fell to the floor, screaming in pain. His mind was being flooded with images of war. Warlocks slaying ahamkara, titans standing by as civilians get caught in the casualties, and hunters gambling on who has going to die next. All the bloodshed, all the deception, it was too much for his mind to handle. He was broken. “You have seen the truth, you have seen what your kind has done to us, and to your own.” The hunter stood, his face contorted in horror. He was frozen in place. ‘Oh god, what have we done? What do I do? Why were they killing innocent people?’ He thought to himself. “There is only one choice. Reach into these bones and wield our vengeance. Show them the errors of their ways. Show them that we will never be extinct, that we will live on.” The hunter reached into the pile of bones and pulled out a frame to what was once a weapon. He looked upon the frame, in both confusion and awe. He began to attach bones to the frame of the weapon, each bone fitting perfectly into place. He looked upon the creation. He stared into the darkness and fired, his weapon igniting in blue flame. The fire it created gave him memories of what was once the ahamkara’s, of death and bloodshed. The guardian accepted his fate. “It seems we have binded the contract… Oh bearer of mine.” The voice spoke. The guardian turned back and headed towards the entrance of the cave, with a new darkness to fight.
