I still don't understand the whole book thing (now you added movies) but graphics shouldn't be a pivoting point in your decision to purchase a game or not. Story, mechanics, diversity, character development, and the replay ability should come first before graphics. If you have said yes to all or majority of those then graphics should not matter or are just a bonus if they are good or average.
