Yea... and now all faction gear is 280. I agree from your perspective you have a valid gripe.
It's slower, but you can get higher level gear grinding Trials (I've gotten some 307 gear). Not a great alternative I'll admit, but it is an option. You'll need some help as LL matters, but you can get to Gold Tier without having to get to 8 wins....
