I'm with you. They tell us to to move on but in regular crucible year 1 guns still kick ass? Why move on? I have still kept my year 1 guns just in case!

 •
They tell us to to move on but in regular crucible year 1 guns still kick ass? Why move on?
Exactly! People keep saying that they're glad everything got left behind, because they wanted to get rid of Thorn, Felwinter, Etc.... except, everything from Y1 is still fine in 90% of PvP!!! Nothing changed!! So, I find it really funny when people blindly praise leaving Year 1 behind for fixing weapons balance, when what they should be praising is the 2.0 patch. :P

 • The pvp that matters, yr1 weapons suck now. Trials and iron banner, left yr1 behind. Nobody cares about reg pvp.

 •
Nobody cares about reg pvp.
Most players dont care about any PvP, bro. Last time Bungie put out stats, 80% of players didn't even touch PvP, so if you're telling me that the experience of about 20% of 20% of players takes precidence over the experience of the other 95% of players; you're crazy. ;)

 • I only mentioned pvp because thats what you mentioned. And for the record, i promise you its way higher than 20% that play pvp. Im not saying its as high as pve, but its a lot.

Im not saying its as high as pve, but its a lot.
I promise you, it's not. And, I brought up PvP because the majority of players in favor of leaving Y1 behind are PvP-centric players, who don't seem capable of seeing the whole picture (PvP and PvE). So, I've found that if I start by addressing PvP misconceptions, they're more likely to understand the bigger argument I'm making. I'm not saying that I think PvP should matter that much (because it shouldn't, and I think PvE should take precedence), but trying to explain PvE-specific issues to PvP players just isn't effective. Gotta start somewhere! Haha :P

 • I get what your saying. Honestly though, bungie had to leave the old gear behind. If they didn't, they would have to add elemental to the new endgame weapons. Thats something they were trying to get away from. The truth, is that they hit a home run with the design of vog and all its gear. They have been trying to do it again with each expansion, but have come up short. I think thats why they've changed so many things. If they can get people focused enough on the new shiny stuff, they might forget the old stuff.

The answer is never. Bungie is removing Elemental Primaries for their benefit- not the players'. Leaving Y1 might help their plans, but it doesn't help us.
