Especially the ones that post the long break up letter explaining their reasons for leaving. It's a game for Pete's sake

Right ...I'm sure they take the time to read all those.... At least posting on the forums allows for people to bump/upvote/discuss the persons "leaving" post and allows bungie to notice it and read it. That and the part where Bungie has literally encouraged people to keep discussing this game and leaving feedback on the forums.
