Weapons: There are new items that have some character: Touch of Malice, Black Spindle, Sleeper Stimulant. Nothing as overpowering as Gjallarhorn, but then again many players didn't even experience that until last few weeks of Y1.
Hand cannons are still effective. They're just more situational now. I personally see that as an improvement. You shouldn't be able to snipe with a hand cannon.
Lvl 34-40: While I don't disagree levels have little meaning, it's not as if it takes anything away from the game. It's simply irrelevant (other than allowing you to wear higher light level gear) and as such has little impact, good or bad.
Sense of progression and old content: Every game with mmorpg elements has a cycle where gear becomes obsolete. You progress from old gear to new gear.
Time Gated Items: I can kind of see your point there, but it's not as if it never comes up on a weekend. You play less, then you have less opportunities. They could probably improve that a bit while still keeping the sense of a "special event".
Still no LFG system: If you have to spend hours visiting Facebook, Bungie.net, DestinyLFG or other 3rd party LFG sites getting a group together, that's on YOU. It's never taken me more than 10 minutes to find a raid team on destinylfg.com. Now, finding a GOOD team is another story, but matchmaking would not guarantee you a good fireteam either.
Frankly I don't WANT matchmaking for raids.
Rewards: I will agree with you 100% on this. I have 5 gauntlets on 1 char. They stated this wouldn't happen. Well......
Also, went through and finished Hard Mode, and did not get 1 drop to help my character. 1 308 piece of gear and a bunch of shards. That's a lot of effort for absolutely no gear reward.
Microtransactions:: Dumbest. Arguement. Ever. Don't like them? Don't buy them. They have no bearing on your ability to play the game.
Iron Banner: A reasonable observation. I'm not sure of the point either, other than some unique gear that has to be levelled up.
The addiction: Stop whining. Addiction to anything is not a good thing. Having a reason to spend more time with your family is a GOOD thing rather than something to complain about.
EDIT: It's funny how many people are apparently offended by:
1. Expressing a reasonable opinion AND giving a reason for that opinion (and actually agreeing with several of the OP's points).
2. Stating an addiction is NOT good.
3. Stating having family time IS good.
Never realized there were so many emotionally damaged people on these forums.....

Have to disagree about handcannons... There is a serious problem with accuracy and/or hit detection now (crucible). I've had times when I'm sure my aim was directly on their head or upper chest, and all my bullets somehow miss...
-
Are you sure it's not a distance / dmg fall off issue rather than an accuracy issue? I haven't noticed any difference other than at the longest ranges.
-
If it has something to do with distance and damage drop off, then I'm guessing you now need to be within shotgun range to be effective lol because I was easily within fusion rifle range...
-
Microtransactions:: Dumbest. Arguement. Ever. Don't like them? Don't buy them. They have no bearing on your ability to play the game.
This statement just made your opinion invalid.
-
Huh? Please explain to me how I am at a disadvantage in any way because i choose not to buy an emote, or why this diminishes my game play experience in any way whatsoever.
-
Microtransactions are easily one of the most hated / frowned upon things in gaming. It's not the point that it's "just an emote", it's a developer's way of sucking money out of the fanbase. If you see nothing wrong with that, well, I cannot listen to anything else you have to say.
-
That IS the point. It's completely optional, and is not "sucking money" by any any definition. "Sucking money" would be forcing you to pay in order play the game or gain benefits in order to be on equal ground as other players. If you're so sensitive you're butthurt about that, what you're saying is not worth hearing.

Chill out dude, it just his opinion.

His post was some BS. But that response? Bit harsh.
-
I will sum all of his "counter-argument"
Shut up and deal with it.
There is not a single fact within his statement....
-
That's kinda mean and uncalled for.

Man. TTK Is -blam!-ed, and you know it. I agree with leaving gear behind. I have no problem with that. The problem is the change of the progression system for my new gear Instead of having ultimate control to level up what I CHOOSE to level up, they've now made even the leveling system RNG. It's Especially difficult to level up If you like one gear set ( as I like bog wild ) This was the dumbest slap in the face to the fan base
-
I'm not sure what you mean by saying they made the leveling system RNG..... would you elaborate?
-
Edited by BLWigglyAkA: 11/13/2015 12:20:20 AMOk. Remember when gear dropped in year one you could break it down for ascended or radiant mats? It kind of gave you control of upgrading your gear and guns. Then e light came , giving you ultimate control to upgrade whatever. But this year, you can be Rocking 295 light, and still get under powered gear. To me, that makes the process to upgrade RNG based in comparison to year one
-
Thanks. Yes, I see your point now. See my reply RedfooRocker22 below.

Edited by BLWigglyAkA: 11/13/2015 12:45:17 AMI feel ya on the reply... but I had all faction gear ( FWC) . I didn't desire raid gear, as I don't this year >> i only raided for Mats .. and that got me where i wanted to be. You were guaranteed mats on each break down of anything legendary. So this year has put a big damper in my progression, because I do crucible. And with the weakest drops i keep getting i'm beginning to think I wont even get to 300+ light .. but this wasn't a problem for me year one. Everything Legendary gave me the mats I needed. And I was able to dispose Crucible marks for planets. It was glorious. But now...... I just stop playing OH yeah. I got max light level thru crucible by way of IRON banner. then HoW came and it let you max out WHATEVER
-
Yea... and now all faction gear is 280. I agree from your perspective you have a valid gripe. It's slower, but you can get higher level gear grinding Trials (I've gotten some 307 gear). Not a great alternative I'll admit, but it is an option. You'll need some help as LL matters, but you can get to Gold Tier without having to get to 8 wins....

VoG gear = 30 light Oryx gear = x light
R
N
G

Edited by Ez: 11/13/2015 12:30:38 AMOh. You mean because you have to get a random drop in order to be able to raise the light level of weapon/armor? I would agree that's a negative thing, however it isn't a new concept from TTK or Y2. It's just another way to use RNG to artificially inflate the time required to actually play, rather than new content being a reason to increase play time. They've done that since day 1; this is just a different way to accomplish the same thing (like having to do VoG 20 times to get the boots from an RNG drop that would finally get you to level 26 or whatever it was). It's not a new concept. It's the same thing wrapped in a different package. It sucked then, and it sucks now, but it doesn't make the game worse than it was before. This concept was already one of the game's faults.

Don't try to defend it. He isn't talking to you. Desticle
-
Not defending it at all. And the term "desticle" doesn't even make sense. Using it probably makes you feel part of something, eh? Unfortunately it just shows lack of original thought. It's sad that you have to blindly hate on something that obviously has both favorable as well as negative aspects. And what makes you think I was talking to YOU?
-
We got a desticle over here
-
If you actually think about what you said it doesn't even make sense.
-
Lol. You make me chuckle. Poor kid trying to defend his only game
