It will last IF they keep all of the past expansions relevant in the next games (i.e., lvl 40 VoG with some new twists like random taken fights where bosses used to be or a new mechanic you have to use to kill the bosses like totems if taken appear at the gatekeeper cp). It would need to be up to date so it wouldn't need to be taken next game but you get the gist. They really half ass their expansions and just paste them into the game instead of really thinking about it. I'd still like to have a pack of wolves prowling events and stuff.
There is no way they thought giving 280 gear for IB was a good idea. They did it just to be able to "fix" something later and appear like they are "listening" to us. Hell, they do this every time with PvP gear. They don't bring the light lvl up for it until right before the next expansion (I don't play much PvP but I get why everyone gets mad at it).
They also need to end this always online crap. I won't even be able to play destiny in a few years when they stop supporting it. This game is really awkward when you stand back and look at it.
Having said that, I really like the gameplay. They just need to freaking make a linear story like RPGs have and have an open world system like they do now. The story needs to make sense.
