They will ALL be back.
I think people can't deal with the cycle.
COD has a new version each year. New maps, new guns, new... everything. People play it, get tired of it, and move on. No worries. Destiny has the AUDACITY to give you a reason to come back each week. Whether it's for the spindle, the raid loot, IB, Trials, Xur, whatever. When they get tired of the multiplayer modes, and the story is exhausted, they'll be back. Trying to get that Spindle.
They ALL come back.
And if they don't come back for the weekly "free" stuff, they'll be back next year to shell out another $60 on Y3, just like they do with COD, Battlefront, Assassin's Creed, etc.
Destiny will be here.

Actually I think this cycle has happened several times already. CE, HoW & TTK have all had a reset cycle and players have come back. This time the sticks are too big and the carrots are too small. The awful truth is that the sticks were patched bigger and the carrots were patched smaller after TTK was released and reviewed. Everyone is very rightly angry about this.
