Wow. The response to this post has been amazingly in favor of the OP's points with only a few nit pickers or trolls. Whenever you see a post like this, 99% of the responses are "bye felicia" or "STFU and GTFO". This goes to show the community slowly is starting to reach a consensus on the longevity of this game and bungie is running out of track fast. I used to be a defender of bungie and destiny. For the past month I've been on the fence on whether I felt defending them was justifiable. After last weeks weekly update and deej's snarky attitude towards the uproar stemming from the weapon parts nerf, I am no longer on the fence and I can no longer defend bungie. So some people have "too much" weapons parts? How is it that this impacts the game in a negative way? It doesn't and people are smart enough to understand that it doesn't but instead they treat us like idiots and say its for the betterment of the game in general (more like the betterment of bungievisions pockets by keeping people grinding). Things like this as well as time-gated exotics are simply attempts to artificially extend the games lifespan. The sting of waiting would be lessened if they were actually worth waiting for. People are burnt out from the endless grinding with no meaningful rewards. I remember when I first got my hands on fatebringer and being excited to upgrade and use it, and when it finally reached its maximum potential it was an absolutely amazing weapon to wield. That was your reward. An excellent weapon for an exceptional effort. Has any post TTK weapon come even close to achieving that level of satisfaction from a player? No, none have even come remotely close. SS was completely under whelming (though some of that stems from it being overly hyped by bungie and the community), and NTTE is good but not as good as I thought it should be. So to sum up, we're onto you bungie. TTK was no disaster but a carefully thought out plan to give us as little content as possible while keeping us happy and distracted by a few new features. It worked for a while but some of us can see through the BS. TTK gave us little while taking almost everything from year one away.

  • Luke Smith has stated that y1 weapons were made too strong by mistake and they're attempting to balance them out in y2 so there's more variety hence no primary elementals. And with the way this forum talks to Bungie on a HOURLY basis Deej's comment is nice compared to what I would say in his situation lol. And it's not the community that's losing interest. You're referring to the forum. Which we all know is a fraction of the community as a whole. In fact I know that a lot of positive players stay OUT of the forums cause they know how nasty it is. If you see a drop in your friends list it's not because of lost interest in Destiny. It's because 3 awesome games came out (Halo 5,Black Ops 3,Fallout 4) and more are coming. I, myself will be playing Fallout, but it doesn't mean I'm leaving Destiny.

Disagree with what you're saying. Understand your viewpoint however you're contradicting yourself. This shear volume of personal stories & outpouring paint a pretty realistic picture of what's currently hitting destiny hard! Also, by mixing facts / assumptions / personal view points does not necessarily paint a true picture!

  • I'll say that not everyone leaving Destiny is because of other games. That is an extreme statement. I'm sure there are many who simply did lose interest along with playing the new games. Destiny isn't for everyone and that's understandable. I just don't understand many of these posts being made. Now I may not have exact numbers, but the forums is not a great way to find out what the community, as a whole, is feeling about Destiny. Usually it's the trends like Thorn nerf posts or Sunbreaker nerf posts. But this whole "Destiny is Dead" trend just feels weird since so many great games JUST came out so it's easy to say that. I think we should give it a few months or maybe until after the holidays to really get an accurate reading of whether Destiny is not going to make it.

  • The worst of Destinys many problems is the lack of respect for players time. All this game is a constant grind for loot that will eventually be worthless. That's why I stopped after HoW. Nothing I did in year one matters. And apparently, if you want to get the full experience, you have to play on there schedule. Bungie should concentrate of making a more interesting, dynamic world, instead of trying to figure out new ways to take our money.

  • Well yeah.. I was expecting a flame fest. Went to sleep and opened the thread up in the morning. -"Holy Shit! Trending #2?!" I open the thread carefully mentally preparing myself for all the -"bye felicia" comments but no.. 99% Positive feedback.. What the hell just happened?

  • Created too much scar tissue.. the glass now always looks 1/4 full! Broken economies in real life aren't much fun either! Destiny carried too many expectations for too long and now that other Triple-A games are available, Players perhaps simply relieved to play something else.

  • My thoughts are that the community is finally starting to snap out of it. The honeymoon is over and now the magic is starting to fade. A month ago I would have passed your post by without a glance. Maybe even disliked it. Now Im in the same boat as you. Im not quitting destiny yet but now I've become pretty disillusioned and jaded with the whole grind. Luckily I just installed Fallout 4 :) Ill be back once in a while. Just not as often.

  • Well said, why do hard mode for a crap weapon reskinned that you will infuse into an ok weapon because frankly there is no great weapons anymore. Where are the new fatebringers, blackhammers, gallys etc etc you should get overpowered weapons that wreck shit. That was the whole point of the grind.
