There's a straight up difference in content between Destiny and a game like WoW.
Destiny brings very little content each DLC. DLC that makes the previous content near useless. MMOs have real expansions with months worth of content. Content that doesn't completely shit on the older stuff.
Btw Destiny is not an MMO.

Technicalities on their part. It's more of an mmo than any other genre. Point is, yes even WoW released content that makes their old content useless. Don't believe me, then you haven't downloaded any recent expansions. And seriously how boring would destiny be if everyone was still using year 1 weapons/gear. The expansions force the player to stay engaged and keep it from become stagnant. Also promotes longevity, which is something they will need for a 10 year plan.

Edited by Magnus: 11/10/2015 3:13:52 AMYes WoW does have expansions that can make some older content irrelevant but it's no where near like Destiny. Every piece of new DLC in Destiny immediately makes much of the old content irrelevant. The new DLC is so little in content that it's hard to keep going months on end. It even cuts you off from things like nightfall because of a level difference. If Destiny offered more content in each DLC there would be no problem. Only reason why people even wanted Yr 1 guns is because Bungie hasn't really made anything better. Every new set of guns added on are mediocre except like 3 or 4. People liked Fatebringer, not because of looks, but because it was a good all around gun for PvE. New guns just don't have the kick old weapons had and every gun feels the same.
