So much truth in this.. Today I tried to get the Grasp of Malok. Farmed omnigul with 2 personal friends with the tether and kill method. We spent roughly 6 hours. Go to my recent games and see the omnigul strikes, over 1300 kills combined (hell yes I know how sad this is) and did not get the weapon. No game should have their players grind so much to get absolutely NOTHING out of it. That is just ridiculous beyond all reason. I used to get up on Tuesdays and be so excited to play this game, now I'm just dreading tomorrow like another chore ( yes I know I don't have to play the game, neither do you but we do so please spare me that reply :) ) only to get a bunch of moldering shards that are now as irrelevant as ALL our progress in year one and terrible RNG. Awesome. I ended up deleting my hunter for a second warlock this week, so I got 4 raids and night falls in this week (sad I know, I know). Absolutely nothing to show for it, nothing at all that gave me that sense of "this was worth it". I don't want to quit destiny, I do enjoy it, I just wish the people in charge were removed for people who actually cared for a community and went above and beyond for their fan base. Just my two cents.

  • It's a drop from the Will of Crota strike. And it's all just RNG based, nothing we can do about it. You can go 2 strikes and get it twice, or go 100 and get it 0 times. It's a terrible system, but I'm happy you guys were able to get it!

  • Yep. And some will say "well...if you ever played an MMO you'd -really- know what a grind is like...." But...Destiny's not an MMO. By Bungie's own design (and description) it's an MMO/FPS. It's different; it's a hybrid. And by that, they strongly implied that it was going to take the 'best' of the two; not the worst.

  • Oh I can understand lol and I have played MMOs, mostly Maplestory. Years of it lol and still play occasionally. But it just feels like destiny is way too much grind for the little reward you get. And they charge the gear system and level system so frequently they can't even make up their own minds to the point where it's all irrelevant. What will they do when they remove infusion, add a like lvl 50 or so cap, and revamp again and again? I get that things have to change and that's cool, but don't tell me everything I did was for nothing. And don't try to justify it as "the experience" (I'm talking to you Luke smith) cause that doesn't mean anything apparently.
