Op I agree with everything, except your view on weapons. However you decide to categorize this game, it has a lite mmo framework. When new content is released old gear becomes obsolete, then the grind starts over. That's just the way it is. The way Bungie does this is pure stupidity. On other games you put work into you character with gear and weapons being gravy. On this game the opposite your character is only a collection of gear, naked they are all the same. By putting importance on gear (and the completely shit way you get it) it pisses people off when they have to leave gear behind that took them a lot of time and more luck to get.
