You've done well to get this far.. Understand your perspective and agree with 90% of your post. G8 comments that any other company who valued their customers would praise what you've said - BUNGiE.vision.. they will just keep on doing what they're doing!
Which ain't all bad! Yes BUNGiE's grinding in the right direction, but personally believe that their continual changes to the economy are undermining Players efforts. Sometimes Destiny appears to be a social experiment. To put my finger on the Players pulse, for all the great work that's been crafted in Destiny so far, people have built up so much underlying resentment that each time BUNGiE makes a change, we see it as a double negative. To spell out the obvious for BUNGiE.INC, Players move onto other games and do not invest $€£¥ etc in the Game.
Agree with you that a key issue centres around allowing Players to choose the equipment they play with. BUNGiE fails to understand the attachment that players have with personal favourites e.g. Icebreaker/Fatebringer etc etc.. And I have a new weapon is so amazing, then let us choose if we want to use it.
Personally don't give a dam if other MMO's force players to grind for a new set of weapons / armour each and every year. Destiny doesn't need to force this upon players. Wouldn't it be great to simply play the game for the fun factor without having to grind and grind every four months? Let the Player choose their playstyle and stop changing/nerfing the Meta to suit whatever seasonal wind is blowing thru the Western Seaboard at the time.
Attitudes are changing as Gamers finally have other AAA titles to choose from. Perhaps the reality is that Destiny been has had to hold too much of our focus for too long!
