I completely agree. I've hardly played Destiny at all since TTK was released. I feel like once I got to level 295... there was no point in continuing to play.
In their efford to put all guns on the same playing field so that you will use all of them instead of just your favorites, they have created a game where you don't get attached to anything. Sure, there are 3-4 missions and a few quests to which you can get some cool Exotics, but past that, you aren't hunting for a coveted firearm like you did before. Especially now that raid primary weapons don't feature a burn. I can say that I honestly don't care to do this raid because 1) the loot system sucks 2) you aren't getting anything of great benefit to the rest of the game.
I see no reason to hit max level in this current game just to do the raid. You did it before to help get through those Nighfall's easier to hunt the loot, but now, you clear them easy enough at 290 (for crappier loot). If you simply love doing the raid, then I'm glad you like the game. However, for someone that just likes to do the Daily, Weekly, and Nightfalls to loot chase, once you hit 290 ish, you can do everything in the game except HM Raid. Why keep grinding for more light other than to say you hit max? Once the next expansion comes out, you can just buy some new vendor gear to get you back in the game.
Also, before TTK, I would spend time maxing all three of my characters so they could do the Daily, Weekly Heroic, and the Nightfall. Now that most of these have become account wide deals (and NF rewards are garbage), I have hardly spent time on my other two.
Lastly, Iron Banner. For an event that happens maybe once a month that you have to spend several hours to level just to get vendor level gear was a complete drop of the ball by Bungie. That was a very poor decision and made Iron Banner basically pointless. In their effort to make sure nobody gets a single drop of light without grinding or raiding for it, they managed to wreck the whole thing.
This is the first time in a while where I have had no desire to play Destiny. Just too much repetition for a stingy reward system.
