Same feelings here. Edit: I don't hate the destiny. I am starting to dislike the people running it or ruining it, depending on how you view it. They made it easy for me to leave. Once the "I gotta play" (addiction, trying to keep up with friends) is taken over by frustration and boredom, it's easy to walk away. After that there is no real reason to play, other than talking with friends. Now we just talk while playing other games, multi-player or not. The destiny grind is endless and pointless. And bungie has made it clear several times, this is what they want and how they want us to play their game. Well thanks bungie, enjoy the game and have it all to yourselves to play however you wish when people leave. Even Burger King knew it was smart to let me/us "Have it my/your way". I ask this, why grind now, for months, when you can just rank up next dlc in a few hours? Some will say for fun. But I doubt more than a handful of early Y1's are still enjoying the game enough for that. Hopefully bungie will pull their collective head out of their ass and fix the game. I'd love a reason, other than helping a friend, to keep playing.

I understand your feelings but I think the key comes down to your definition of grind and enjoyment. If you only enjoy the game by having the best stuff then the grind is a barrier to enjoying the game and the upgrade cycle is an annoying waste of time. If you enjoy playing the game for its own intrinsic reasons and less on having the best stuff then it becomes a non issue. I think it's easy to lose track of just enjoying playing games and focus on extrinsic things like collecting stuff although everyone is different and it is nice to have a carrot to chase! I also think after a month or more of solid play most people start to become a little jaded by any game. The content has been well and truly experienced so unless you really love the basic game mechanics and experience you will move onto something else. I have taken 2 large breaks from burning out on destiny and ended up coming back. It's a great chance to play something else and ,say what you will about bungievision and Edit- their pricing model, it will still be there should you want to try it out again! Good luck.

  • But if you take the " rank up when next DLC comes out " you'll possibly miss out on the game changing rewards you could get for playing the entire year like an amazing game changing ..... wait for it....."name card!!!!" WOW i'm so in /sarcasm off..... dead game is dead! go -blam!- yourself bungie!
