Every single FPS has some sort of aim assist. Bullets will curve towards their targets, even if you are aiming slightly to one side. Destiny has extra aim assist compared to some games, but it's nothing new.

  • In real life bullets curve towards people too, just not as much as in game. As in, an infantessimle amount caused by a person's gravitational attraction. Everyone here exerts a gravitational attraction, just a very, very small one comparatively to earth.

  • The effect is negligible in real life.

PC shooter's don't have aim assist for the most part. Certainly none that I could see in UT99, Quake, Counter Strike 1.6 or Source. Console games I've seen it, really not sure why they put it in tbh, as everyone has to deal with the same rule sets for whichever game they play. The one thing I will agree with you on is Destiny's is ridiculous. The way your crosshairs are pulled off of your target by something else drifting in front is horrendous.

  • PC shooters do have slight aim assist, less so in older ones. The reason it exists is because your aim is almost always slightly off.

  • I disagree, aim assist is primarily console games to compensate for the controller rather than mouse/keyboard. If there is aim assist in PC games then it is an option that can be turned off.

  • It exists, even if it's turned off. There are two types of aim assist commonly found: 1 where the gain helps you actually aim (destiny is pretty notable for this), and 2 the bullets have slight curve towards their targets. The second type is found in nearly every shooter game in some amount. This is because most of the time, the player's aim is off slightly.

  • I'm sorry but the precision of a mouse affords the ability to have 0 aim assist. Please link me to a PC game or discussion that proves PC titles have magnetic bullets. I would love to read up on it.

  • Just look for yourself. It's not nearly as strong as a console game, but it exists to some degree in most every case.

  • I played UT99 competitively for over 3 years, Battlefields, Counter Strikes, not one of these has aim assist. Again, please link me to your proof.

  • You've got the burden of proof here bud. I do believe you because I've seen it before, but when someone (like the guy above) says "False" to your claim, it isn't there job to prove you wrong. It's your job to prove yourself right.

  • The thing is, if you've played any FPS you would know this. Take a friend and play some cod. Aim slightly to the side of them. You will still hit them. Same for halo, or even battle field. Half life has some as well.

  • If you reread my post you would see that I said I already know this to be true. I was more talking about you having the burden of proof on the other guy.
