Aim assist is real on destiny. Went on cod and had to actually aim myself and realised the crucible aim assist is ridiculous.

I believe the difference is that while hit boxes are still huge in cod, the 'stickiness' of the crosshair is not as high as on destiny, so it feels like it has less aim assist. Aim assist on cod in general is still very high, try playing campaign with and without auto aim enabled.
